Chapter 23

"I keep telling you that you have nothing to worry about!" Jin argues.

"And I keep telling you that I don't trust him!" I yell back. It's the third time we argue this morning pertaining to the new maintenance worker. Ken. The name itself is enough for me to want to break something. We were doing so well until he got here. Jin and I hardly ever fought before he came and now that seems to be all we do.

"Then trust me! When we started this relationship you told me to trust you, and now I'm asking the same in return." He says sternly. "I've never given you a reason to doubt me. There's nothing going on between me and Ken. Let it go."

"You dare say that while I caught him basically undressing you with his eyes?!"

He opens his mouth to reply to me, but gets cut off by a slam on the table. We turn around to meet with an annoyed Min Seo and Namjoon. "That's enough!" She yells. "You are both grown ass men. Start acting like it!" I roll my eyes and cross my arms in front of my chest. "Oh I know I did not just see you roll your eyes at me Kim Taehyung."

"Sorry" I mutter.

"You bet your ass you're sorry."

My brother steps forward and gets a hold of Jin and I. "Now, both of you are to leave this kitchen, and don't come back until you've talked like civilized adults."

"But what about lunch time?" Jin asked with a pout. If I wasn't so mad I would have admitted it was the cutest thing ever, but he can starve since he won't reason with me.

"There will be no lunch time if you don't fix your issues. You both have been arguing all day everyday for the past week and a half and we're all officially tired of it." By the way he was looking at us I could tell he was serious. Namjoon is never the kind to raise his voice or be serious the only time I ever saw him break from his calm and humorous persona was when the whole incident with my high school boyfriend happened, so I knew not to push it.

I grab Jin by the hand and dragged him upstairs to my room. "Let's get this over with. I know how moody you get when you skip a meal and no one wants to be around a moody, hungry Seokjin."

Namjoon POV

I watch the quarreling couple make their way upstairs as I take a seat and rest my face on my hands. "They're really getting annoying. Fighting so much and for what? Tae's stupid jealousy."

Min Seo releases a heavy sigh before sitting down in front of me. "I agree Namjoon, but they wouldn't be arguing this much if they didn't care."

"Leave it to Kim Min Seo to be the one to talk with reasoning and logic." I say with a smile.

"Where do you think you get it from?" She says grabbing my hands.

"God how I wish you were our mom instead. I know you basically are with the amount of time you spent looking after us, but I can't help but think things might have been different if Seoyun hadn't been around. They would've been better." I say tightening my grip on her.

"Don't be foolish, child." She chuckles. "If she weren't here neither would you and Tae."

"You sure about that Min Seo?" I know I struck a nerve. I saw it on her face. She froze and went pale.

"W-what do you mean?"

"I know Seoyun is not my or Tae's biological mother," she lets go of my hands as I continue. "But you've worked here long enough to know that."

She looks away trying to avoid my eyes. "How could you say that? I don't like being anywhere near her. How would I know?"

"You're really going to lie to me?" I slightly raise my voice. Why can't she trust me? She was our caretaker. She loved two spoiled brats who weren't even hers unconditionally. Her only task was to look after us and keep us alive but she gave us the love of a mother instead. It hurts to think that after all that we've been through she doesn't trust me enough. "Just because I'm not around as much, doesn't mean I'm not aware of what's going on around here. I've also been speaking to a private investigator of my own along with Yoongi and Jungkook." I can see her start to shake. "Min Seo I've figured it out."
