It has not been a better day. I'm currently on my way to the emergency room again thanks to another one of my 'brilliant' ideas.
"Don't beat yourself up, Tae." Namjoon tries assuring me as he drives and I continue holding on to Jin's bleeding hand. "The idea wasn't bad. I thought it was cute tying a poem to Tannie's collar to give to Jin."
"Yeah if only I had known that he was cutting steak when we lured him out to the backyard." I mumble putting pressure on his cut. "I'm sorry Jin."
"Don't worry about it." He mutters out scrunching his face in pain. We walk in the hospital and are greeted by the same doctor from yesterday.
"Oh, it's you again." He says a bit surprised. He looks at Jin. He looks at him a bit too fondly in my opinion, but I shake my head erasing that thought from my mind. I pull Jin's hand from his body to show to the doctor.
"His hands smelled like meat so our dog chased him around the yard." I explain.
"So he was bitten?"
"No, he tripped and fell and accidentally broke one of our potted plants with his hand." He nods and takes Jin from my side and leads him away, while Namjoon and I sit and wait.
"Is it just me or did he stare a little to fondly at Jin?" He asks.
"I saw it," I reply. "But my jealousy is what got me in this situation to begin with. Even if I don't like the way Dr. Lee looked at him, I have no choice than to keep my thoughts to myself."
He puts his arm over me and leans my body against his. "Its good to know that you're learning from your mistakes brother."
"I just want him back in my arms already."
We wait for another two hours before Dr. Lee comes out with news. "He's going to be fine. Although he did need a couple of stitches, the wound itself wasn't deep."
Once again we thank Dr. Lee, and head over to the receptionist to sign Jin out. She too gave us that 'you again?' face before handing us the release forms.
We drop Jin off at his house to rest except this time he doesn't let us go in with him.
"I'll be fine. Thanks again for taking me to the emergency room." He says looking for his keys.
"Again, I'm really sorry, Jin." He freezes and turns to me.
"Don't apologize, I really am fine," he assures. I look down in shame, but I feel his fingers lift my chin up to look at him. "I have both notes," he says lowly. "I think they're lovely." There's a slight blush on his face. "Thank you." He turns around and walks inside and I automatically start dancing in victory once the door closes.
Namjoon comes up and puts his arm around me as an attempt to make me stop. "See I told you the idea wasn't all bad."
I put my arm around him as well and start skipping back home. "Tomorrow will be perfect for sure. Third time's the charm," I say happily.
Next Day
'So third time is not the charm after all' I think as I see the scene in front of me unfold. Everything was going perfectly. I turned the backyard into a flower wonderland. I made sure to fill the whole yard with beautiful plants. I spent all night with the boys preparing it. I spent extra on the flowers as well because they were delivered overnight but it didn't matter. The glint in his eyes when he opened the front door of his home leading a trail of different flowers made it worth it. It was perfect. He was perfect.
Then tragedy struck. A bee. Well more like several, and they hadn't even aimed at him at first. Hobi was fooling around with the sunflowers. He was basking in the glory when a bee flew to him, then another... and then another. He freaked out which freaked Jin out and before I knew it they were running around the backyard trying to run from the flying insects.
"Babe, take the flower off from your hair!" Yoongi yelled running after his boyfriend.
"They're everywhere!" He yelled back swatting his hair.
"Jimin go get something to get rid of the bees!" I yell going after Jin. Amidst all the chaos I didn't notice Hoseok and Jin running towards each other at full force. "Watch out!"
My warning was in vain though. They collided against each other and both ended up falling into the pool. We all gathered around waiting for them to get out.
Hoseok came out frantically, and swam to the side of the pool to get out. I peak over to see that Jin isn't out yet, and automatically throw myself into the water to get him.
"Get the car!" I order as I bring him out of the pool. I quickly start performing CPR on him. "Damn it" I curse as I continue to compressing his chest. I tilt his chin up towards me and pinch his nose as I blow into his mouth. "Come on baby," I plead as I continue compressions.
I hear Yoongi's traffic unit come to a stop near me when Jin finally throws the water out. I pick him up and carry him to the car and Yoongi turns the sirens on as we speed to the hospital.
We race inside to find someone to help, and we see Dr. Lee looking at us in disbelief. "Oh, for the love of God!" He whines. "What did you do to him now?!"
"He fell in the pool. He threw the water out already but he won't wake up." I explain.
He examines him and sees a bump on his head. "He probably got a concussion." He says taking Jin from my arms and putting him on a gurney.
I sit with Yoongi waiting for news. "Where do I keep going wrong." I groan covering my face with my hands.
"You're doing too much," he replied. "He loves you. You keep trying to one up yourself and making these grand gestures to win his love, but you don't need to. You already have it. What you need to do is talk with him. You gave him time, and he seems to be doing better so maybe he's ready to have a conversation with you without it ending up in an argument."
"About that girl I hooked up with." I start. "Jungkook, adviced me not to say anything. What do you think I should do?"
"I think it's up to you," he answers. "You really screwed up doing that, and if he finds out about this, it could make things worse between you too." He pauses. "On the other hand, however, the people who know about this are Namjoon, Jungkook, and I, and none of us are going to say anything. Hell, I haven't even told Hobi, and I tell him everything." I shift in my seat uncomfortably. "You want to talk about something else?"
"Please?" I chuckle.
"Not that I meant to look or anything, but what's with the scar on his chest?" I snap my neck turning towards him. "When he got that allergic reaction, he took his shirt off. We all saw it."
"He was in an accident. He accompanied his mom to the airport who was on her way to see Min Seo. There was a fuel leak and the plane blew up, the glass shattered where Jin was standing and a piece cut into him."
"Oh," he says looking down. "And his mom?"
"She didn't make it." I answer.
"Is that why he moved here?"
"No, the accident happened over a year and a half ago. Min Seo forced him to move to Seoul when she saw he was having financial difficulties, why?" He shrugs me off and shakes his head.
"I just think its interesting. That's all." He replies. I don't dwell on it too much because the nurse comes out to tell me that Jin is now conscious and I can see him. I get up to follow the nurse to Jin's room. "Tae," Yoongi stops me and hands me a bouquet of peonies. "Kookie handed them to me before we took off. They were the only ones that survived the chaos." I thank him and take them. "Tae, one last thing."
"Yeah?"
"About what you asked me earlier over what you should do. Just because something needs to be said. It doesn't always mean it needs to be heard."
"Thank you for the advice Yoongs."
"Anytime," he replies as I leave to see Jin.
