It's been almost thirty minutes since I revealed the crime my mom committed. I can tell they're still trying to process the news. "Do either of you need water or something?"
I hear Jungkook clear his throat. "Why are you just revealing this now? How long ago was this?"
"Why haven't you turned her in?" Yoongi added.
"I just found out about this a couple months ago, and as for not turning her in to the police, there's no body and no evidence." I answer.
"Then how do you even know that she was killed?" Yoongi asked.
"I was with Jackson and he was showing me how he was able to hack people's phones and intercept phone calls. Mother just so happened to be on the phone at that time, so he demonstrated with her. I heard her saying that getting rid of Eun Jae was going to be the most beneficial thing she'll ever do."
"So Jackson knows?"
"No, I was wearing earphones and I made up an excuse for him to leave when I heard."
"Tae is there anything else you may know about Eun Jae that will help me find her?"
"She had a son right before she fled, but that's pretty vague too. I don't know his age or where he is. All I know is that he's probably in his early to mid twenties by now." I turn to Kook to see his big eyes concentrating on the carpet. "What?" I ask snapping him out of his trance.
"I understand it's important to find out what happened to Eun Jae because your mom is in a lot of trouble. My confusion has to do about the will. If she's dead what's the point of upholding it? What happens if we can't find her son?"
"My grandfather made it clear that no one is to touch her part of the inheritance. If she couldn't claim it then it goes to any family she may have. My grandmother, however, added a clause right before she passed away, that in the event that Eun Jae or her family don't come forward two years after the will is put into action then the inheritance automatically goes to Mother."
"And when was the will released?"
"It was a conjoined will. So it didn't go into effect until my grandmother passed away."
"So we have less than a year to find her son." Yoongi stated. I nodded in agreement. "I can already tell this is going to give me a headache" he says pinching the bridge of his nose. "Just to make sure I have it all right. Her name is Kim Eun Jae, she used to work for your grandfather when she was a teenager and left sometime during her early to mid twenties, oh and let's not forget about the kid she left behind who's most likely around the same age."
"Yes."
"And there isn't a single person who might know where he is?"
"Well-"
"Tae, is there someone who knows where he could be?"
"Min Seo knows, but she won't say anything."
"Of course because that would be too easy." He says with a scoff. "Well we should get ready. Kook and I left our clothes in my car, so we'll be back in a bit." He says nudging at the younger.
"If you see Jin can you tell him to come see me?"
"I guess that also means we're changing in one of the guest rooms?" He asks raising an eyebrow annoyed.
"I knew you'd understand." I say with a smile as I start changing out of my clothes. I decided on grey slacks and paired it with a light pink button up long sleeve, which I may or may have not chosen to match with a certain someone's hair, and finished the look with a white blazer. I hear the door open as I'm fixing my hair.
