BABY #4 ARRIVES

Sanem gives birth

Sanem was waddling around the house. She was miserable. She felt as big as a house. She could not get comfortable when trying to sleep. She could not get comfortable when sitting. She did not feel comfortable when looking in a mirror. She felt fat and ugly. She started making breakfast for her family. She was making oatmeal and sausage. That was all she was in the mood to make. While it was cooking, she woke the kids up for school. They got dressed while she finished breakfast. Can came into the kitchen stretching like a mountain lion. He embraced Sanem from behind. She leaned back against him. He kissed her cheek and told her good morning, love. She said good morning, dear. The kids came out of their rooms and sat down for breakfast. Can helped Sanem serve the kids. He went to pour them some juice.

Can went back to the bedroom to get dressed. He made the bed while he was in there. He then made his way to the kids' rooms and made their beds. He returned to the kitchen. Sanem was finishing up the breakfast dishes. The kids went to get their backpacks for school before the bus arrived. Can told Sanem he was only going to the agency for a few hours and then he would return. Sanem said OK. Can told her to take it easy and not overdo it today. Sanem looked at him and said she was as big as a whale, what could she possible overdo. Can laughed and told her she was a beautiful whale. Sanem glared at him.

The kids got on the bus and Can left for the agency. Sanem went to the bedroom to get dressed. She put on a sundress. At least she wouldn't have to stretch pants over her stomach. She went to make herself a cup of tea. She took her tea and sat on the couch in the living room. Her back was hurting since she got up this morning. No matter what she did, the pain would not go away. She put a pillow behind her back. She decided to get up and walk around. She thought it would help her back. The pain seemed to be moving to her stomach. She got a sharp pain in her abdomen which paralyzed her. She had to sit down. She breathed through the pain. The pain then stopped. A few minutes later, the pain hit her again, sharper than the first one. This one made her cry out in pain. Once again, she breathed through the pain. Was she in labor? She was not due for another week. Suddenly, she felt her water break. The pain was then more intense and breathing through it was not helping. She could not move due to the pain being excoriating. There was a knock at her door. She could not get up to answer it. She screamed for whoever it was to come in. She hoped Can did not lock it when he left. The knock continued but Sanem could not move. Another pain hit her, and she screamed out in pain. The next thing she knew, her front door was kicked in. Omer was standing there with a panicked look on his face. He ran to Sanem. He asked if she was in labor. All Sanem could do was nod. Omer picked her up in his arms like she weighed nothing. She told Omer she needed her overnight bag by the front door. He grabbed it on his way to his SUV. He placed her in the front seat and put her seatbelt on. He threw her bag in the bag. He got behind the wheel and took off as fast as he could. He called his boss Mr. Necmi to see if he could arrange a new door for the Divit house. He told him what had happened. Mr. Necmi said he would get someone there immediately. Omer said he would pay for the door. Omer then called Can to let him know Sanem was in labor and he was taking her to the hospital. Can said he would meet them there. Sanem asked Omer why he showed up today. Omer smiled and said he wanted to check on her. He was worried about her since the last time he saw her. Sanem told him thank goodness he came.

Omer arrived at the hospital and ran around to the passenger side. He picked Sanem up in his arms and entered the hospital. He yelled for some help. The nurse brought a gurney and Omer laid her on it. They asked if he was the father. Omer told them no. The father was on his way. The nurse wheeled her back to the delivery room. Can entered a few minutes later. He found Omer pacing in the waiting room. Can shook his hand and thanked him for bringing Sanem to the hospital. The nurse took Can back to his wife. He found her in a lot of pain. He grabbed her hand and told her he was there. Sanem squeezed his hand. She told him this always happens when he isn't around. Can smiled and said he was starting to realize that. Sanem said thank goodness Omer decided to visit when he did. Can asked why he was there. Sanem told him he was worried about her since the last time they met. Sanem screamed out when another pain hit her.

The doctor came in to check her. She told Sanem it would not be long now. She was dilated to 8cm. Sanem asked Can if they could change the name they picked out for their son. Can told her of course. He asked her what she wanted to name their son. Sanem said instead of Tarik Nihat Aziz Divit, she wanted to name their son Omer Nihat Aziz Divit. Can smiled and said he loved it. He will be named after the man who saved his wife and kids. Sanem said and rescuing her today. Can said of course. Soon, it was time to push. Sanem pushed with all her might, The doctor said a few more pushes like that and their son would be here. Sanem pushed again with all she had in her. She was getting very tired. Can wiped her face with a cool cloth. It was time to push again, but Sanem couldn't. She was just to tired. Can told her he loved her, and this would be the last one. He told her to come on and push as hard as she could. Sanem pushed as hard as she could, and her son was finally here. Sanem laid there until she heard her son cry. The nurse laid their son in Sanem's arms. Sanem smiled at her baby and kissed his head. Sanem said hello Omer Nihat Aziz Divit. She told him she was his mommy. She told her little Omer that this man here was his daddy. Can kissed his head. He had tears in his eyes just looking at his son. Can kissed his wife's cheek and told her she was amazing. He told her she had given him 4 beautiful children and he couldn't love her anymore than he did at this moment. He told her he would go see if their family arrived yet.

Can entered the waiting area and found everyone there, including Omer. He had waited this whole time. Can told Mevkibe, Nihat, Aziz, Mihriban, Leyla, Emre, Cey Cey, Muzzo, Deren, Bulut and Omer that baby Omer Nihat Aziz Divit was here. He is happy and healthy. Nihat and Aziz cried when hearing the baby was named after them. Can walked over to Omer, who had tears in his eyes. Omer looked at Can and asked why Omer? Can told him it was what Sanem wanted. She wanted their son named after the man who saved her and her family. Omer said he was honored. He shook Can's hand. Can told him to wait around and he could meet his namesake. Omer said he wasn't going anywhere. Omer did hand him new keys to his front door. Omer told him it was locked and heard Sanem scream. Can smiled and told him he kicked the door down, right? Omer nodded and said sorry. Can told him it didn't matter. His wife was more important then a door. Can asked Leyla if she could meet the kids' bus and pick them up. Leyla told him sure. Mevkibe told Leyla to bring the kids to her and Nihat. Leyla said OK.

Can went back to be with his wife. They were getting ready to move her to a regular room. Once in her room, her family and friends came in. Omer went to the nursery window to see little Omer. Omer thought of his deceased wife and unborn child. He watched little Omer with tears in his eyes. He told the little boy he was one lucky guy. He had two wonderful parents and 3 siblings to keep him company. He told him to take care of his mommy and daddy. Soon, the nursery window was packed with Sanem's family and friends. Omer snuck off to visit Sanem. He knocked and entered her room. Sanem was in the bed with Can sitting beside her. Sanem smiled at Omer and told him to come in. She asked if he saw the little guy yet. Omer said he did. He told Sanem that he was perfect. Sanem told Omer he is his namesake. Omer smiled and told Sanem he was honored. Omer came over to the bed and hugged Sanem. Sanem kissed his cheek and told him he was a part of their family now. Omer told her thank you. Can shook his hand again and thanked him for everything. He told them he was going to hit the road, but he would stay in touch.

Can reached over and grabbed Sanem's hand. Sanem looked at him and smiled. She ran her hands through his beard. She told him she loved him, Can Divit. He kissed her lips and told her he loved her, Sanem Divit.
