REFLECTING ON THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER

After the documentary was over, Can picked his sleeping wife up and carried her to bed. He tucked her in and kissed her forehead. He then went out on the balcony to watch the stars. He thought about his life before he met Sanem and then after he met her. He realized he had changed so much. He changed for her. She was everything to him. He had become a better person because of his wife. He became a family man because of her. He became more forgiving because of her. He made want things in life that he never thought he wanted before. He never saw himself married. He certainly never saw himself as a father. And he definitely never thought he would have a house and plant roots. He actually missed traveling a little, but not as much as he would miss his family if he were traveling. He smiled to himself. He loved his life now and he wouldn't change one thing about it. He got up and went inside. He locked up and turned off all the lights. He entered their bedroom and climbed in on his side of the bed. Even asleep, Sanem knew he was there. She rolled over to her husband and laid her head on his chest. Can ran his hands through her hair. He whispered that he loved her. He then fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, Sanem woke up first. She looked up at her husband and smiled. He was so adorable when he slept. She slowly got out of bed and tip toed to the kitchen. She made herself a cup of tea. She went out and sat on the balcony and was enjoying the slight breeze through her hair. She thought back on her life...how she was before she met Can and then after she met Can. She had changed because of her husband. She still trusted people, but not as fast as she use too. She was no longer a naive, innocent girl. Can taught her to stand up for herself. Her husband taught her how to love unconditionally. He taught her to listen to her heart and not her head. She always dreamed of her albatross, but never in a million years thought she would ever meet him. Then Can came along. She realized that dreams do come true. She was living the proof. Can was all she dreamed about until the day she met him. She was now his wife and mother to his 4 children. She loved her life and wouldn't change one thing about it.

Can came out on the balcony and sat down beside his wife. He asked her what she was doing. Sanem smiled and told him she was thinking about her life. Can asked her if she regretted anything in her life. Sanem told him no. She admitted to making mistakes in her life, but the mistakes are what has made her the person she is today. Sanem told him she loved everything about her life. Can told her he loved everything about his life as well. Can bent down and gave his wife a quick kiss. He asked her if she was hungry. Sanem told him she was always hungry. Can told her he would make breakfast this morning. Sanem smiled and said OK. Can got up and headed to the kitchen. Sanem got up and headed to the bedroom to get dressed. She made the bed while she was in the bedroom and then changed her clothes. Sanem went to get Omer out of his crib. He was crying. She changed him and grabbed a bottle on the way to the living area. She fed him and then placed him in his playpen. She headed into the kitchen to see if Can needed help. He had breakfast almost done and the table was set. Sanem went to make them tea. Soon, they were sitting at the table eating their breakfast. Sanem loved when Can cooked. He was an expert in the kitchen. After breakfast, Sanem helped Can clean up the kitchen and do the dishes.

Can asked her what she wanted to do today. Sanem told him she wanted to go to the farmer's market to see what fresh fruits and vegetables they could buy. Can smiled and told her they could do that. Can went to change his clothes and soon all three of them were in the truck headed to the farmer's market. Sanem found plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables to take home. Can put the bags in the truck. He asked Sanem if she wanted to go anywhere else. Sanem told him she couldn't think of anywhere else to go. Can told her they would drive to his dad's and pick up Ates and Yildiz. Sanem told him OK. They arrived at his dad's house and him, Sanem and Omer exited the truck. Can knocked at the door and Mihriban answered the door. She invited them inside. She immediately grabbed Omer and gave him loads of kisses. Ates and Yildiz were playing a board game with their grandpa Aziz. They were excited to see their mom and dad. The kids gathered their overnight bags and sat them in the living area. Mihriban insisted they stay for dinner. She made Can's favorite....dolma. Can could not say no to that. Sanem helped Mihriban set the table while Can enjoyed some time with his dad.

Soon, they were all seated and eating the delicious dolma. Mihriban asked Sanem what her plans for New Year's Day was. It was 2 months away. Sanem told her she had not even thought about it. Mihriban suggested that everyone come here for New Year's Day dinner. They could do a covered dish so not one person would be stuck fixing an entire meal. Sanem said she would talk to her parents and Leyla and Emre. Mihriban told her OK. Can and Sanem gathered up the kids after dinner and clean up were complete. They were soon on their way home. Can had to pick Deniz up in an hour. She had spent the weekend with her friend Dhyana. When they arrived home, Sanem got Omer out of her car seat and Can grabbed the bags of fruits and vegetables from the back of the truck. Sanem told Ates and Yildiz to unpack their overnight bags and bring her all their dirty clothes. She changed Omer's diaper and put him in his swing. Can put the fruits and vegetables away after he washed them. Sanem started some laundry. Yildiz and Ates got their baths and changed into their pajamas. Sanem gave Omer his bath and put his pajamas on him. Can had left to pick up Deniz.

Sanem was reading a book when Can arrived home with Deniz. Deniz gave her mom a hug and kiss. Sanem told her she missed her. She told her mom she missed her too. She told Deniz to unpack her bag and take all her dirty clothes to the laundry room. Deniz said OK. Deniz was soon showered and in her pajamas. Can told Deniz she needed to work on her Christmas list soon. He told her Christmas was just around the corner. Deniz said she would work on it tomorrow after school. She was tired and was headed to bed. She kissed her parents and went to her room where her dog, Chi Chi was waiting for her. Chi Chi climbed into bed with Deniz and they were both soon fast asleep.

Sanem went to her bedroom and changed into her pajamas. Can changed into shorts and a tank top. They both climbed into bed. They held each other and they too were soon fast asleep.
