LOOSING HOPE

THE CRISIS IS FINALLY OVER

Omer had a plan. He called Mr. Necmi. He told Mr. Necmi he had a plan to catch this Hakan freak. Mr. Necmi told him to spill it. Omer's plan was to make it look like Can and the kids were leaving for the day on Saturday. Of course, Omer would go with them or at least make it appear he left with them. He would have Can drop him off a few blocks away and he would run back to the house, using the back street. He wanted Yalin and Cinar in the house hiding. If this freak Hakan thinks Sanem is alone, he will be desperate enough to make his move. They will hide Sanem and either Yalin or Cinar will be under the covers on the bed. Hakan will think it is Sanem. Then they grabbed his ass. Mr. Necmi said they would have to talk to Can and Sanem to get their OK. Omer said he would take care of it.

Omer went to Can and Sanem's office to tell them his plan. Can immediately said no. He was not putting his wife in that kind of danger. Sanem told Can to hold up. She told Can this might work, and she could get on with her life again. Can said no. The only way he would consider it was if there was a man that looked like Omer that left with him and the kids. If Omer was in the house with Sanem, Yalin and Cinar, then he would be OK with it. Omer smiled and said he had a brother that was big like him. Can asked could he pass as him? Omer said yep, he sure could. Can said set it up and he would be OK with it. Omer telephoned Mr. Necmi back and told him of Can's condition. Mr. Necmi told Omer to call his brother and they would make this go down tomorrow. Omer said roger that.

Omer called his brother and his brother was happy to help. Omer gave him the address. Everyone was meeting there tonight. Yalin, Cinar, Omer and his brother Farook would stay at the house tonight. Can, Farook and the kids would leave tomorrow morning. Omer, Cinar, Yalin and Sanem would stay at the house. Soon, it was the end of the day and Can, Sanem and Omer headed home. Cinar and Yalin pulled into the driveway the same time they did. Cinar and Yalin left but parked their car a few streets over and walked the back street to the Divit home. They entered through the backdoor. About 2 hours later, Omer met his brother Farook at the back door and let him in. Sanem looked at both brothers and could have sworn they were twins. She was astounded at the similarities. After the kids were bathed and tucked in for the night, the adults gathered in the dining room to talk. They went over the plan once again with Mr. Necmi on speaker phone. Omer swore this would end tomorrow. Mr. Necmi told them to keep him posted. Omer grabbed Sanem's hand and looked her in the eyes. He promised her that this freak would not touch her. He told Sanem she had his word. Sanem thanked him.

Yalin and Cinar crashed in the room used for an office. Omer and Farook sat in the living area. Farook ended up falling asleep on the couch, but not Omer. He walked the house, checking doors and windows. He looked out at the road and there Hakan sat, watching the house. Omer told him to keep looking and enjoy it while he could. Because tomorrow would be the end of him and his terrorizing of this family. He told Hakan see you tomorrow, psycho. Omer sat there in the dark. Sleep was the last thing on his mind. He heard someone walking around the house and got up to check. It was Can. He was sitting at the dining room table with his head in his hands. Omer sat down beside him. He asked Can why he was up. Can said he couldn't sleep. He is worried about his wife. He told Omer he couldn't lose her. She was his everything. They had been through to much since being together and he would not loose her to this cucumber Hakan. Omer told Can he would not loose her. He promised he would not loose his wife. Omer told Can he wouldn't promise that Hakan wouldn't loose his though. Can looked at him but said nothing. Can just nodded to Omer that he understood and headed back to bed with his wife. Can laid down with Sanem and pulled her into his arms. He wrapped his arms securely around his wife and kissed the top of her head. He whispered he loved her so much and he would not loose her. He whispered she was everything to him. He then fell asleep holding his wife close to him.

The next morning, Sanem got up and made breakfast for everyone. She fed the kids, Can, Yalin, Cinar and Farook. Omer said he was not hungry. He loses his appetite when his adrenaline starts kicking in. Omer said he would just drink a cup of coffee. Sanem smiled and said she would get it for him. Once the kids were finished eating, they went and got dressed for the day. Sanem started cleaning up the kitchen. Can came in to help her. Once the kitchen and dining room were cleaned up, Sanem went to the bedroom to get dressed. Can followed her. He embraced her and held her for the longest time. She held him too. Can kept telling her everything would be OK. He told her he loved her over and over again. She told him she loved him too. Can told her this would be over soon. Sanem told him she hoped so. Can went and got to make sure the kids were ready. Can, the kids and Farook headed out to the truck. Sanem took outside the door telling them goodbye and she would see them later today. Omer wanted to make sure Hakan saw that she was still there, without Can and her bodyguard. Omer hid in the master bathroom connected to Sanem and Can's bedroom. Yalin was in the bed under the covers. Cinar took Sanem and hid with her in the laundry room crawl space. Then they waited. Omer had his gun ready, as did Yalin under the covers with him. Cinar also had his gun with him in the crawl space with Sanem. He had her behind him.

It seemed like forever, when they heard the front door open. They purposely left it unlocked with the alarm off. Omer heard someone walking through the house. This person was checking all the rooms, making his way to the master bedroom. This person finally made his way to the master bedroom. He slowly crept into the room. His eyes watching the lump in the bed. Omer peeked out through the crack in the bathroom door. He saw that it was indeed Hakan and he was carrying a gun. Hakan slowly climbed onto the bed, thinking it was Sanem under the covers. He was saying her name softly. When Hakan pulled back the covers, Yalin sat up with his gun in Hakan's face. Yalin said hi honey, welcome home. Hakan jumped off the bed with his gun raised. Omer had exited the bathroom and was standing behind Hakan with his gun raised. Hakan backed into him and stopped. Omer said what's the matter, honey, not happy to see us? Hakan turned around to face Omer with the gun still in his hands. Omer told him it might be wise if he dropped his little pea shooter. Hakan asked where Sanem was. Omer told him it wasn't his concern at the moment. Yalin had gotten out of the bed and was now standing behind Hakan. Hakan told them he knew Sanem was here....he saw her enter the house when her family left. Hakan started yelling for Sanem. Sanem was still in the crawl space crying and trembling. Cinar put his arm around her and told it would be over soon. She needed to calm down and be strong for her unborn child. Sanem whispered OK.

Back in the bedroom, Hakan was still yelling for Sanem. Omer told him to shut up. Sanem did not want to see him. She was happily married to the love of her life. They had 3 beautiful children and another one on the way. Hakan looked at Omer and told him she was not happy, and she belonged to him. Omer got in his face and told him only in his deluded dreams. Sanem was very happy with her husband and kids. Omer told him that Sanem did not like him and found him rather creepy. Hakan told him to shut up. It was lies....all lies. Omer was pushing this psycho's button. Yalin was looking at him strange and wondering what he was doing. Omer told Hakan Sanem would rather die than have him touch her in any way. She detests him, Omer said. Hakan was screaming at Omer now. He was losing his cool and Omer was getting him to the point where he needed him to be. Omer told him why would she give up her handsome, successful husband for a piece of scum like him. Hakan pointed his gun at Omer, but Omer fired his gun first. Hakan grabbed his chest and fell to the ground. Sanem heard the shot and started screaming. Cinar grabbed her and held on. He buried her face in his chest. He kept telling her to calm down....to calm down. He rocked her until her sobs stopped.

Yalin asked Omer why he did that. Omer looked at Yalin and told him this family needed peace of mind. They needed to finally feel safe and remain safe for the rest of their lives. He told Yalin this psycho would have gotten out of prison one day and this would all begin again. Yalin understood and nodded. He clapped Omer on the back and told him he had his back. Omer smiled and told him he knew that. Omer checked for a pulse on Hakan and found none. He telephoned Mr. Necmi and told him it was over and Hakan was dead. Mr. Necmi said he would contact the police. Omer went and got Cinar and Sanem out of the crawl space. He told Sanem not to go into her bedroom. Sanem nodded. She hugged Omer and asked if he was OK. Omer smiled at her and said he was fine. He told Sanem he kept his promise. Hakan never touched her and never would again. Sanem asked if he was dead. Omer nodded. She hugged Omer again and thanked him for freeing her. Omer said she was welcome. Sanem saw Yalin and went and hugged him and asked if he was OK. Yalin told her he was fine.

Soon, the police arrived, and everybody gave their statements. It was ruled self-defense, since Hakan still had his gun in his hand. Can entered the house and the police tried to stop him. He yelled his wife was in this house. Can saw Sanem standing in the living area. He ran to her and threw his arms around her. Sanem sobbed in his arms. She told Can it was over for good. Hakan was dead. Can looked over at Omer and nodded at him. Omer nodded back at Can. Sanem asked where the kids were. Can said they were in the truck with Farook. Sanem ran out to see her babies. Can shook Omer's hand and told him he didn't know how to thank him. Omer told him no thanks was needed. Omer told Can to be happy with his family and that was the only thanks he needed. Can told him that would not be a problem. Can shook Cinar and Yalin's hands and thanked them. Can told them he was getting his family out of here before they removed the body.

Can went to the truck and told Sanem they were leaving for a few days. He told Sanem he would have a cleaning crew there tomorrow to clean up the house. He asked the kids if they wanted to stay with grandma Mevkibe and grandpa Nihat tonight? They all said yes. He told Sanem the kids had clothes at their grandparent's house, so it would be best if they stayed there. He told her they would stop for some clothes for them and get a hotel for the night. Sanem nodded. Can called Mevkibe and she told her to bring the kids over and they would keep them. Can dropped them off and Mevkibe and Nihat came outside to check on their daughter. They hugged and kissed her. Nihat told Can to take care of his little bird. Can promised he would.
