ATES MEETS A NEW FRIEND

The next day, the Divits headed to the agency. Can told Sanem he would drop the kids off at day care and he would join her in their office when he was done. Sanem said OK. She gave the kids hugs and kisses. Can walked the kids into the day care. Can pretended like he left, but he stayed out of sight, but could still hear everything. He heard two boys approached Ates and started with the name calling. They told him he was a freak with one arm. He was an idiot who couldn't climb a tree. Can heard his son speak. Ates told these boys he was sorry they felt this way. He was a pretty good kid and an awesome boy to have as a friend. The boys continued taunting him. They said they didn't want to be his friend. Suddenly, another little boy came up to Ates and said he would be his friend. He asked if Ates wanted to play. Ates smiled and said sure. Ates got up and went to play with his new friends. The other two boys just stood there in disbelief. Can could not help but smile. He was so proud of his son. Can left and headed upstairs to the agency.

Sanem was in their office when he arrived. Sanem asked if everything was OK. Can told her everything was great. He told her what he overheard between Ates and those two boys. Can told her what Ates response was. He also told her about Ates' new friend. Sanem was so tickled that everything worked out. She hugged her husband and said he was an awesome dad. He told Sanem at that age, he would have just punched the other kid. He was so glad Ates took what he said to heart and listened to him. Sanem suggested they invite this new friend over to paly with Ates. Can thought it was an awesome idea. He would try to find out who his parents are. Sanem smiled and said OK.

Can and Sanem got a lot of work done today. They had the hair care products campaign complete and they were just waiting for the owners of the company to come and watch the presentation. They were due there at any time. Deren came and told Can that the owners of the hair care products were there for their presentation. Can told Deren to take them to the conference room and him and Sanem would be right there. After the presentation, the owners informed Can and Sanem that the job was theirs. Can shook their hands and told them thank you.

Can asked if Sanem wanted to order lunch in today. Sanem told him that was fine. She was going down to check on the kids. Can told her he would order their food, while she was downstairs. Sanem got to the daycare and peeked in on the kids. Deniz and Yildiz were playing with a couple of other girls and Ates was playing cars with some little boy. Ates looked so happy. Sanem was so glad her children were making friends. She went back upstairs to her office. The food had not yet arrived, so she went and fetched her and Can some tea. She took it back to their office. Can was going over emails on his laptop. She sat his tea down. He asked how the kids were. Sanem said they fine. She told him Ates was playing cars with some little boy and he seemed happy. Can was glad. There was a knock on their door. The food had arrived. They sat down to enjoy their lunch. They chatted about their kids. They chatted about their next campaign. They chatted about their life together. Can suddenly asked her if they were going to have anymore children. Sanem just kind of stared at him funny. She asked Can if the triplets were enough. Can said of course. I cherish our children. He asked her if she missed holding a tiny baby in her arms. Sanem admitted she did sometimes. She just didn't know if she wanted another baby right now. She told Can they were not using protection, so if it did happen, then it would happen. She just didn't want to plan it. She asked Can if he understood. Can kissed her and said he understood.

At the end of the day, Can and Sanem went to pick up their kids. The little boy's mother was also picking her son up. Sanem had seen the lady around at the agency. Sanem went and introduced herself. Her name was Defne and she introduced her son as Kamen. Sanem asked if they could make a play date for the boys one day on a weekend. Defne said that would be great. Sanem asked if her husband would be OK with it. Defne looked at Sanem with sad eyes and said she was divorced. It was just her and Kamen. Sanem told her she was sorry. She didn't mean to pry. Defne said it is OK because it is what it is. They exchanged cell phone numbers. Sanem promised to call. She even told Defne she could stay at the house while the boys played. They could have some tea or coffee. Defne said wonderful. She looked forward to hearing from her.

Sanem told Can on the way home that she got Defne's cell number so they could arrange a play date for the boys. Can told her that was great. Can asked about her husband. Sanem told him she was divorced but seemed sad about it. Ates was listening from the back seat. Ates asked what devoce (divorce) meant. Can explained that when a mom and dad fall out of love and can no longer live in the same house, they divorce. Ates asked what happens to the kids. Can explained they either live with mom or dad, but not both at the same time. The kids would get to visit their mom or dad. Ates started crying. He asked if Can and Sanem were getting devoced (divorced). Sanem told him they were not getting divorced. She loved his daddy very much and wanted to live in the same house with him and their children. Can told Ates not to worry. They would always be a family under the same roof. Ates calmed down but it still looked like he had something on his mind.

Once home, they all entered the house. Chi Chi was waiting by the door. The girls went outside to play with Chi Chi. Ates told his mom and dad he was going to his room. They knew something was wrong because Ates loved to play outside. They let him go to his room without any questions. Sanem was worried about her son and wondered what was on his mind. Sanem decided not to push for any information tonight. He had already gotten upset after overhearing Can and Sanem talking about his friend Kamen and the divorce. Sanem decided from now on, she would wait until her and Can were alone to talk about such sensitive issues.
