LOOSING HOPE

NEW YEAR'S EVE AND DAY

It was 3 days before New Year's Eve. Since they do not celebrate Christmas like they do in America, they celebrate it on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Can and Sanem had bought gifts for their 4 children, as well as, their family and friends. Everyone was getting together on New Year's Eve to exchange gifts and then watch the fireworks that Istanbul lets off every year. Our families decided to get together for New Year's Day and have a covered dish dinner. It would be Can, Sanem and their kids, Sanem's parents, Leyla, Emre and their kids, and Mihriban and Aziz. They were having it at Mihriban's farm. Today, Can and Sanem were at the agency. Sanem was going to meet the person who wanted to invest in her creams, lotions and perfumes. Can and Sanem were in the conference room waiting for this person's arrival. Can had remained tight-lipped about who this person was. He only told Sanem it was a surprise. Sanem was getting anxious. She could not imagine who this person could be. There was a knock on the conference room door and then the door opened. It was Aunt Remide. Sanem jumped up and ran to the woman. She embraced her in a warm hug. Sanem pulled back and asked her if she was the secret investor. Aunt Remide just smiled and nodded yes. Sanem asked her since when was she interested in creams and perfumes. Aunt Remide told her since the day she met Sanem. Sanem hugged her once again.

Can, Sanem and Aunt Remide sat for a few hours and ironed out the details. Sanem was so excited to finally get this off the ground. Sanem was so happy it was Aunt Remide who would be taking a chance on her and her creams. After Aunt Remide left, Sanem ran and jumped into Can's arms. She kissed his face all over. She told him thank you over and over again. Can told her he would do anything for her. He loved her that much. Can grabbed her and they headed back to their office. Sanem could not stop smiling. Aunt Remide said they would begin their little adventure after the New Year. Can kept stealing glances at his beautiful wife. He loved it when she was so happy. The smile had not left her face since their meeting with Aunt Remide had ended. He did the right thing by calling his Aunt Remide. He knew she had invested in a perfume company and she loved the smell of Sanem's creams and perfumes. So, he knew it would be a win-win for both Aunt Remide and Sanem.

They continued working throughout the day. Once the workday was over, they picked up Omer from the day care center and headed home to meet the triplet's school bus. This was the last school day for the triplets until after the New Year. Can pulled into the driveway and carried Omer into the house. Sanem waited outside for the school bus. A few minutes later, the school bus pulled up and the triplets exited the bus. Deniz, Ates and Yildiz ran to hug their mom. Soon, they all headed into the house. Omer was in his playpen and Can was starting dinner in the kitchen. The triplets went to put their things away. Sanem entered the kitchen and embraced her husband from behind. He stopped what he was doing and turned around in her arms. He bent down and kissed her passionately. When the broke for air, Sanem asked him he needed any help with dinner. Can told her she could set the table. Sanem told him OK. She set the table and poured juice for the kids. She went and made tea for her and Can. Soon, dinner was on the table and Sanem called the kids. Can went and picked up Omer and placed him in his highchair. Can and Sanem listened to the triplets talk about their school day and the presents they wanted for New Year's Eve. Can and Sanem had already went shopping for the kids. The gifts were wrapped and stored in Can's outside shed. Sanem could not wait for the kids to open their gifts.

After dinner, Sanem cleaned up the kitchen while Can sent the kids one by one to get their baths. Soon, all the kids were dressed for bed. They were all in the living area watching a Disney movie on television. Can and Sanem were sitting on the couch watching it with the kids. When it was over, the kids went to bed and Sanem carried Omer to his crib. She kissed the top of his head and turned on his nightlight. She then shut his door. She went in search of her husband. She found him sitting outside looking at the stars. It was something they have done since the beginning of their relationship. Sanem sat down beside him and laid her head on his shoulder. He kissed the top of her head. He then put his arm around her and held her close. They stayed like that for a while. Sanem eventually looked up at him. Can dipped his head and kissed her deeply. Sanem moaned into his mouth. Can stood up and held out his hand. Sanem took it and Can led her to the bedroom. Soon they were naked and making love to each other for the next few hours. They fell asleep in each other's arms.

New Year's Eve

Everyone met at Mihriban and Aziz's house to exchange presents. Can and Sanem would let their kids open their presents when they got back home. Mihriban and Aziz gave Can and Sanem a weekend getaway with them babysitting the kids. They also gave Emre and Leyla a weekend getaway with them keeping their children. Once everyone exchanged gifts, they all sat in the garden to watch the fireworks. The kids loved it. Soon, Can and Sanem headed home so their kids could open their presents. Sanem enjoyed watching her kids open their gifts. Can took lots of pictures. The kids loved everything they got. The kids got their baths and were soon tucked into bed. Sanem was exhausted, so she headed to the bedroom and changed into her pajamas. She climbed into bed. Can came in and changed into a pair of shorts and a tank top. He climbed into bed beside his wife. They fell asleep wrapped in each other's arms.

New Year's Day

The next day, they headed back to Mihriban and Aziz's for their New Year's Day dinner. Everyone ate, talked, laughed and just enjoyed each other's company. While the kids were playing and Mihriban was keeping an eye on them, Can and Sanem walked to the pier and sat down. Can told Sanem this brought back memories of him finding her again after a year of not seeing each other. He told her he would always be thankful for this pier. Sanem giggled. She looked at her husband and told him she loved him. She told him she finally got her happy ever after. Can told her no....this was just the beginning. Can bent down and kissed his beautiful wife.
