The next day at the agency, Can and Sanem both arrived. They entered the office that they now shared. They had several campaigns that needed their attention. Sanem went to fetch them both teas, before their day began. Can was on his cell phone when she returned. He was speaking with Ahmet. Sanem looked at him questioning. Can just rolled his eyes. Once the conversation was complete, Sanem asked him what that was about. Can told her he wanted to know if he had given it anymore thought about keeping his company as a client. She asked what he had decided. Can said he would keep him as a client but would not hesitate to drop their account if Cinar becomes involved in anything. Sanem told Can that sounded fair. He said Ahmet seemed happy with it.
They worked clear through until lunch time. Can asked Sanem if she wanted to go out for lunch or eat there in the office. Sanem told him got out; she needed some fresh air. Sanem grabbed her bag and they head out for a bite to eat. They got in Can's truck and he asked her what she was in the mood for. Sanem said it didn't matter and for him to choose. Can took them along the coast where there were several eateries. They walked until they found a place, they both agreed on. The view was spectacular. It overlooked the sea. Sanem felt the cool breeze on her face. It felt like nirvana. They both ordered pasta and salad.
Can watched his wife who was looking out towards the sea. She looked so beautiful today and so at peace. After their years together, she still looked so young and innocent. Almost, angelic like. He wondered if he would always feel this way about her. His feelings for her had never changed. In fact, they have grown stronger over the years. She was his best friend, his lover, the mother of his children, the love of his life. Not once had he ever thought of looking at another woman. Why would he? He had everything right there in front of him. He smiled to himself. Yep, Sanem had him hook, line and sinker. Emre told him once he had thrown his anchor to the pier of Sanem. Can thought he was nuts when he said that. Looking back now, Emre was right.
Sanem realized her husband was staring at her, but she kept looking out towards the sea. She wondered what he was thinking. Knowing her husband, she figured it involved getting naked and making love. It seemed to be his favorite pastime. Of course, she loved every moment she had alone with Can. With 3 kids, it was sometimes hard to get alone time. But when they were able too, they made the most of it. Sanem never thought she would fall in love with her boss. She never thought she would fall in love with somebody in a higher-class bracket. But, Can never thought about coming from money. He never threw his status around. He never looked upon others who had less than him. Maybe that is what attracted her to him. He had the biggest heart out of anybody she had ever met. Always helping when he could. Of course, looking like a Greek God helped the situation along. To her, he was perfect. He was her best friend, her lover, the father of her children and her albatross.
Their food arrived and they tucked into it. Sanem told Can it was delicious, as always. Can told her he would never take her to a bad place to eat. Sanem told him no, he never has. After eating, they walked the coast hand in hand. They were enjoying the weather, the peace of the sea and each other. They soon headed back to the agency. They first stopped in at the nursery to check on the triplets. The triplets were playing in a corner among themselves. They were close and never seemed to be to far away from one another. Sanem swore they had some kind of triplet intuition. It was like each one knew what the other was thinking and feeling. If one didn't feel good, the other two immediately knew. If one was angry, the other 2 got angry. It was actually pretty scary sometimes.
Can and Sanem entered their office and sat down. Sanem asked Can what was next on the agenda. Can told her they had a jewelry presentation to work on. It was a big company and would put their agency on top if they were able to get the account. Sanem said well, let's get to work then. Sanem looked over the file and looked at some of the jewelry they made. It was simply beautiful jewelry and very affordable. One necklace caught Sanem's eye. It was beautiful albatross. She looked over at Can who was wearing his famous albatross necklace. He had that necklace for years and never left home without it. It was starting to look worn and it had seen better days. She thought about purchasing him a new one, but he hated it when she bought him gifts. She also saw an adorable phoenix necklace. Maybe he would not get so upset if she bought one for herself too. The Phoenix and the Albatross. Sanem decided. She would order him the albatross necklace and her the phoenix necklace.
Can asked Sanem if she could come up with the slogan. Sanem said she would try, but she was so out of practice. She told him to let her think on it. Can said of course. Sanem did some research on the company. The company was already on their third generation of owners, bring passed down from grandfather to father to children. It had been in business for over 80 years and they were doing very well for themselves. Their profit margin was phenomenal. As far back as she could see, their profits only increased year after year. By the end of the day, Sanem could still not come up with an awesome slogan. She thought she would go home and think on it.
They picked up the kids from the nursery, loaded them in the truck and headed home. Once home, they unloaded the kids and headed inside. Sanem had no idea what to make for dinner. Can suggested that he make dinner, which was OK with Sanem. She went to check on the kids. They were all playing quietly. Sanem sat in the living area with her feet on couch, laying back. The slogan for the jewelry company still weighing on her mind. She hated it when things didn't come to her quickly. She was throwing a few around her brain. "Look like a million bucks", "Feel like a million bucks", "Jewelry...the heart of every woman". Nothing seemed to feel right to Sanem. Can let her know dinner was ready. She helped him round up the kids to eat. They all sat down to eat. It was delicious, as usual. Her husband could definitely cook.
Can noticed how quiet Sanem was this evening. He asked her what was on her mind. She told him she was racking her brain for a slogan for the jewelry campaign, but nothing was coming up. Can laughed and told her to stop bringing her work home with her. Sanem said ha ha...very funny. Can told her to stop worrying. They would come up with something. He told her maybe she should drink some of Deren's fruit juice. She seems to come up with awesome slogans then. Can then laughed. She glared at Can and said aren't you just cute. Can looked at her and said it was only a suggestion, with a smile. Dinner was over and the kids went to play. Sanem and Can tackled the kitchen clean up. She thanked him for dinner and told him it was delicious. He hugged her and said anytime. He gave her a quick kiss on the lips. They headed into the living area to sit down for a few. Can held Sanem in his arms. He kissed her cheek and told her he loved her. She smiled at him and told him she loved him too.
