LOOSING HOPE

THE TRIPLETS ARE FINALLY HOME

2 days later

Sanem got the phone call from the hospital. The triplets were getting discharged today. She yelled for Can and he came running. He asked what was the matter. Sanem said let's go get our babies and bring them home. Can smiled brightly and said let's go! He called Mihriban and his dad, Aziz to let them know the babies were coming home. He then called Mevkibe and Nihat to let them know. Can and Sanem hopped in the truck and headed to the hospital. All 3 car seats were already installed in the back seat. Everything at home was bought in threes...cribs, highchairs, etc. They were ready to bring their babies home. They arrived at the hospital and headed straight to the nursery. Their babies were wide awake in their little beds and looking around. They still looked so tiny to Sanem. The nurse came out of the nursery and went over some instructions with Can ad Sanem. She told them if they had no questions, they could sign the discharge papers and they could take their precious bundles home. Can carried one baby. Sanem carried another. And a nurse carried the third one. Can closed each one in their car seat. He helped Sanem up into the truck and then they were headed home.

Once they reached home, Mihriban, Aziz, Mevkibe and Nihat were waiting for them. Can helped Sanem out of the truck and the grandparents unhooked car seats. The grandparents carried the babies into the house. Sanem noticed her father carrying a couple suitcases into the house. Sanem asked what the suitcases were for. Can smiled at Sanem and he answered. He told Sanem that Mevkibe and Mihriban were going to stay with them for a few weeks to help out with triplets. He told Sanem she wouldn't let him hire a nanny, so grandmothers were the next best thing. Sanem had tears in her eyes. She hugged both Mevkibe and Mihriban. She thanked them both. They told her they would stay until Sanem didn't need them anymore. Sanem told them they would be there forever, because she would always need them.

Can was sitting on the couch with Sanem. He had his arm thrown over her shoulders. Sanem was holding Deniz and could not stop staring at her. She was perfect...10 fingers and 10 toes. She had dark hair like her momma. Sanem told Can she was beautiful. Can told her just like her momma. Mevkibe switched her babies. Sanem was now holding Atesh, her son. He had hair color like Can's. He actually resembled Can. Sanem kissed his tiny head. He was perfect too. She kept running her finger down the side of his face. Mihriban brought Yildiz over to Can. He held her so gently. Can was afraid she would break. She had hair the color of Sanem's sister Leyla. Triplets, but they were all different. Sanem was sure they would each have their own personality. The babies were falling asleep so, Mevkibe and Mihriban took them to their nursery. Sanem rested her head on Can's shoulder. Nihat and Aziz left earlier for home. Mevkibe and Mihriban returned to the living area and told Can and Sanem they would start dinner. Can told them they weren't there to wait on them. They were here to help with the babies. Mevkibe said you are correct. You both are my babies too.

Sanem looked at her husband and said the adventure begins. Can laughed and told her he loved adventures. Sanem smiled and said good. This is going to be 3 times his normal adventure. Can told her very true. He kissed her cheek. They sat that way for a while. Can noticed Sanem's body went limp. He looked at her face and realized she fell asleep on his shoulder. Can laughed and said to himself, typical Sanem. He got up off the couch and carried her to their bedroom. He laid her on their bed and covered her up. She looked like an angel laying there. So perfect. So innocent. So beautiful. And all his. He went to the kitchen to tell Mevkibe and Mihriban that Sanem was asleep in their bed. They told him to go take a nap with Sanem. They could handle the babies and dinner would not be done for a while. Can told them he would do that.

Can entered their bedroom and Sanem was still asleep. He climbed into bed with his wife. He pulled her into his arms and held her. He fell into a peaceful sleep right next to his wife. Sanem woke up a short time later to find herself wrapped in her husband's arms. He was adorable when he slept. She could watch him for hours. She reached out and ran her hand through his beard. She loved his beard. Can woke up with the feeling someone was rubbing his face. He opened his eyes and found Sanem staring at him. He smiled and said good evening, my beloved. Sanem said good morning, my one and only. Sanem told him she was hungry, and something smelled divine. Can told her Mevkibe and Mihriban were making dinner. Sanem said let's go see if we can eat. Can laughed.

They entered the kitchen and found dinner ready. Mevkibe was bottle feeding Atesh and Mihriban was feeding Deniz in the living area. They said Yildiz had already finished his bottle and was back asleep. They told Can and Sanem to go eat their dinner before it got cold. Sanem and Can went to the kitchen. They loaded up their plates with dolma and salad. They sat down at the table to eat. Sanem was making pleasing sounds with each bite. She told Can she sure missed her mom's cooking. Can told her he did too. After they were done, they returned to the living area. Mevkibe and Mihriban had no babies in their arms. They told Can and Sanem after they finished their bottles, they both fell asleep. They were in the nursery in their cribs.

Can and Sanem went to the nursery to take a peek at their babies. The babies looked so peaceful while they slept. Can embraced his wife and told her thank you. Sanem asked for what? He said for bringing our babies into this world; for loving me; for being my wife and for making me the happiest man in the world. Sanem put her hand on his beard and told him she would do anything for him. He was her whole world. He gave her a passion filled kiss. Can lifted his head and told her he could kiss her until the end of time. He would never be able to get enough of her.
