NEW YORK BOUND

The next day, Sanem headed to the airport. Her flight was scheduled for 1:00 pm. She knew Can had already left to go climbing with Ayca. Deep down, she didn't want to leave, but she felt it was the only way. Can didn't remember their love that began over two years ago. He didn't know her anymore. She remembered what is was like to watch gorgeous females throw themselves at Can and he never put a stop to it. She remembered the pain and jealously she felt each time a woman would cheek kiss or hug him. She just could not go through all that again. Her heart couldn't take it. He told her he was falling in love with her again. She saw the love in his eyes when they made love, but he still went climbing with Ayca. She believed Can needed someone like Ayca. They had so many things in common. Sanem wasn't sporty or outdoorsy. She decided she would call her parents and sister once she got settled in New York. Her American publisher, Travis had already set up an apartment for her. He was going to give her a few days to get things in order and then he would meet with her. Her plane took off on time and she was now on her way to New York.

Can left to go climbing with Ayca, but he never made it there. He felt something wasn't right with Sanem. He called Ayca and cancelled. He headed back to the farm. When he got there, he immediately went to Sanem's house. It was 12:30 pm. Sanem was no where to be found. He searched the whole farm. He called her sister, Leyla but she had not heard from Sanem. He called her parents, but they too have not heard from her. He called and texted her cell phone numerous times but got no response. He went back to her house and searched her bedroom. Most of her clothes were gone and her suitcases were not there. He finally realized that she left. Where in the world would she have gone? She mentioned Amsterdam to see his dad, Aziz. She also mentioned New York for 6 months. Why would she leave? He told her he loved her. They made love, not once, but twice. She agreed to give him a chance to know her again. He started to think this was all over Ayca. She mentioned her jealously in the past towards other women who threw themselves at him. That had to be it. Then he agreed to go climbing with Ayca. Now he knew why she insisted on him going. She knew last night she was leaving. She was just waiting for him to leave to go climbing. Ah, Sanem. Ah, he said out loud. He had to find her. She took something of his when she left....his heart.

Sanem landed in New York. It was so different from Istanbul. Tall buildings everywhere and so much traffic. She gave the taxi driver the address of her apartment that Travis texted her. The doorman of the apartment building would have her key. She finally remembered to turn her phone back on. She had about 50 missed calls from Can, a few from Leyla and a few from her parents. She also had numerous text messages from Can. He kept wanting to know where she was at, why did she leave and that he loved her. At that moment, her phone started ringing. It was Can again. She pushed the ignore button. She told herself it was for the best.

Can was going crazy. She wouldn't answer her phone. His dad, Aziz hadn't heard from her. Can just knew she went to New York. How would he find her there? The place was huge. She never told him what part of New York she was going to. He didn't even know the name of this American publisher. He called the airport and was able to get her flight information, but they would not tell him anything else. So, now he knew for a fact she flew to New York. He said out loud, you're not getting away so easily, Sanem Aydin. I will find you. He called the airport a booked a flight to New York. His flight was for tomorrow morning. If he had to comb the whole state of New York, he would find her.

Can went back to his house and packed. He was ready to leave for the airport, first thing in the morning. He called Embre and told him he was leaving to find Sanem, but he would return. He told him to take over the agency until he got back. Embre told him he would. Before Can went to sleep that night, he tried one more time to reach Sanem. It went straight to voice mail. He left her a message. He told her he loved her, but she left with something that was his...his heart. He told her he would find her and then she would have some explaining to do. He then told her see you soon, my beloved.
