NEVER GIVE UP ON LOVE

Sanem sat down beside Can and touched his forehead. He was burning up. She started calling his name and shaking him. Can opened his eyes and all he could say was it hurts. Sanem asked him what hurts, baby? Can said head. She said we need to go to the hospital. He didn't argue. He just said OK. Sanem called Aziz, Can's father and woke him up. She told him what was going on. He said he would be right there. Sanem asked Can if he was able to walk. He said he would try. Sanem helped him stand up. With Sanem's help, she got him outside. By this time, Aziz and Mihriban had arrived. Between the 3 of them, they got Can to his truck. They placed him gently in the back seat with Aziz. Sanem and Mihriban were in the front, with Sanem driving. They arrived at the hospital rather quickly. Sanem ran to get a wheelchair so he wouldn't have to walk. Once in the chair, Can passed out. He was rushed into an observation room. Sanem, Aziz and Mihriban were told to wait outside the room.

Sanem was pacing and crying. Mihriban was comforting Aziz. By this time, the rest of the family arrived. Sanem's parents, Leyla, Embre and even Huma. There were still no updates. About an hour later, the doctor came and talked to everyone. The doctor told them he was taking Can for an MRI and CT Scan. He was still unconscious. At this point, he had no idea what was happening with Can. So, they waited some more. Leyla and Embre went and got everyone coffee and tea. And they waited. It was 2 hours later, when the doctor returned. He told them the MRI and CAT Scan were normal. He told them they would just have to wait and see once Can woke up. Sanem asked to see him. The doctor said that was fine. Just one at a time. Sanem entered the room. It was dark except for a small light above his head. He appeared to be sleeping peacefully. She held his hand and talked to him. She begged him to wake up. She begged him not to leave her again. Can remained unconscious. She left the room after kissing him, so another family member could visit.

She came out of the room, crying quietly. Leyla sat with her and held her. After everyone had their turn visiting him, Sanem went back into the room. She gently laid down beside him and held him. She told him how sorry she was. Sorry for the way everything has turned out. Sorry for every time she lied to him and hurt him. Sorry for loosing her trust in him. She told him to please wake up so she could make things different. She fell asleep with her head on his chest. She didn't know how long she slept, but she awoke to feel of someone playing with her hair. She opened her eyes and Can was staring straight at her. He told her good morning. Sanem smiled and said good morning. She asked him how he was feeling. He said he felt like he had been slammed into a brick wall. He asked her how he ended up here. Sanem told him what had happened the previous night. She asked him if his head still hurt. Can said a little. He started giggling. Sanem asked him what was so funny. Can told her he knew how she felt with all the times she has hit her head. Sanem bolted upright. She asked Can if he remembered all of her accidents. He said of course. He told her about running smack into a glass wall, hitting her head when she first started at the agency. The time she was pushed down by a hacker and knocked unconscious. The time she fell in a bear trap and hurt her head. The time she was knocked down by a vehicle. Sanem was laughing and crying all at the same time. Can touched her face and asked her why she was crying. Sanem said you remember me. Can said of course, I remember you. You are my phoenix...my half, my heart, my everything. Sanem touched his beard and gave him a kiss. She said I will be right back. Can said no...don't leave me. Sanem said I promise I will be right back. I need to get the doctor to let him know you woke up. Sanem kissed him again and ran for the doctor.

She came back with the doctor and the doctor asked Sanem to leave the room, so he could examine Can. Can said no...she stays with me and he grabbed her hand. The doctor completed his exam and found everything to be in order. He told Can he could release him, but he needed to take it easy. Can looked at Sanem with a mischievous smile and said he would take it easy. All of their family arrived to see Can. They found him sitting on the edge of the bed, dressed and ready to leave. Sanem told them he remembers everything. Everyone hugged and kissed him. He was discharged and Embre and Aziz helped him into the truck. Sanem got behind the driver's seat. Can was shocked she was driving his truck. She smiled and said you sure can't right now and I want to get you home. He grabbed Sanem's hand before she began driving. She looked at him. Can smiled and told her he loved her more than life itself. Sanem told him she loved him more than herself. She reached over and put her palm against his beard. He kissed her palm. She put the truck in drive and headed home to the farm.

Once they arrived at the farm, Sanem asked him if needed help into his house. Can answered no. He needed help into her home. He wasn't letting her out of his sight. So, Sanem helped him into her house and to the couch. She asked him if he wanted anything. Can said yes. He wanted her right there beside him. Sanem smiled and sat down beside him. Can threw his arm around her. Can told her he wanted to talk. Sanem said OK. Can told her how sorry he was for all the pain he had put her through since their car accident. He told her he couldn't imagine how he would have felt, if she had lost all memories of him. He said it breaks his heart in two to remember all the pain he saw on her face during that time. He told her he promised to never hurt again, and he broke that promise. Sanem told him it was no fault of his. It wasn't his fault he lost 2 years of memories. He couldn't have changed anything. Can reached over and kissed her passionately. Sanem started laughing and reminded him what the doctor said. He was supposed to take it easy. Can smiled and said I am taking it easy. He then suggested to Sanem that they go lay down and rest.

Sanem helped him up and they walked into her bedroom. Can laid down in her big bed and Sanem laid down beside him. He wrapped his arms around her and buried his head in her neck. He whispered in her ear that he loved her. Sanem smiled and told him she loved more. They fell asleep wrapped in each other's arms.
