Hi! First of all, I'd just like to thank you for reading, if you do choose to go through with the chapter, because that means a lot to me. I'm a little sad that I can't add decorations to my chapter like I usually like to, because we're currently in the midst of a horrid cyclone, and I wanted to write this short piece just to try and calm myself down, for I am terrified of such volatile occurrences, regardless of its nature sksksksk.

I really wanted to embody some joy in this, so I hope it's not depressing - I want you to feel joy!

Nevertheless, this one is quite short, and rushed - so do forgive me for that.

Do excuse all errors.

Stay amazing!

All my love!

"Sometimes, we need to lose a part of ourselves, just so that we can find it again. That way, we'd know we were meant to be who we are,"

The wind was howling, and the rain seemed to pour in sheets, cascading all the way down in a chaotic dance just before they hit the ground. You sat at the bedroom window, staring out an the almost invisible scene, a beautiful view of the serene garden that grew outside of the large house you resided in - now obstructed by the thick sheets of rain, accompanied by the darkened skies that followed. With swollen eyes, you blinked as the tears streamed down your face, bringing your gaze to your lap. It was early evening, but with the storm brewing outside, you began to feel as though you had become submerged in an unending pool of darkness, an eternal night that would never seem to break into a hopeful dawn. You lived alone, and had been living alone for the past two years. Your life, essentially, was quite enigmatic - and in summary, you were currently struggling with your career, one that was fueled by your dream to be an author, a passion for writing. Dreams were big, and hopes were high at one point in your life - but right now, you really didn't know where you were. For the past two years, you had been relentlessly chasing your dream, but as time had progressed, you just hadn't found what you were looking for. Don't get the wrong idea, you had possessed a great deal of talent, and you had been enticed with various offers - but none held the essence of what you truly desired, and believed in, not even a little. So, you had decided to turn those offers down, and it was at this moment - when you were alone, in the metaphoric center of a storm, that you questioned your decisions.

Maybe if I had just compromised - I'd have been doing something constructive now.

The rain seemed to fall a little heavier, causing a crecscendo, of sorts, in relation to the natural sound it produced - as if it were confirming your thoughts.

Then suddenly, you heard someone knocking loudly at the front door, taking you by surprise. It was a horrid night, in terms of weather, so you certainly had not been expecting visitors; not that you got any when the weather was perfectly fine anyway.

Getting up from the spot that you'd been settled in, on your bed, you got to your feet, being quick to slip on your warm slippers. As you ran your hands over your long skirt, and began to walk out of the bedroom, you heard the knocking resound once more.
