At the capital city Cherubim...
General Meredith paced back and forth, waiting anxiously to hear the news of her experiment's capture. It has been three days since Colonel Roy had contacted her. This was making her frustrated and act on fits of rage. I swear if he hasn't reported back because they killed the experiment, then that Colonel and his little helper are gonna feel the unrelenting amount of torture that they'll beg to die!
All of a sudden the door swung open and one of her lieutenants marched in. "General Meredith!" he saluted her, but she was still in her fit of rage.
"What is it, lieutenant?!" she screamed towards them, and they jumped back to hide behind the door. She took in a deep breath and exhaled to calm herself. When she felt calmed, she adjusted herself and looked at the lieutenant with peaceful eyes. "Report lieutenant."
The lieutenant stepped away from the door and saluted her again. "Colonel Roy is here, and he's brought with him a captured Archangel."
"Wait, he's here right now? Where is he exactly?" the General got in the lieutenant's face, now really anxious.
"He...he's in the king's courtroom presenting the captured Archangel to King Alistaire." The lieutenant explained and her rage boiled back up again.
That honorable idiot! He's gonna ruin everything I've worked hard on if he shows that to King Alistaire! "I have to see this for myself. Move it!" she pushed the lieutenant out of the way and ran all the way to King Alistaire's courtroom. But when she got there, it was too late. Colonel Roy and Cher were kneeling in front of King Alistaire Draken and Queen Gwenivere as they presented them the captured Archangel.
"What is this Colonel Roy?" King Alistaire looked down at the Colonel from his throne.
"Your Majesty, I've brought you the culprit that has been doing the dock killings all over Seraphim, an Archangel." Colonel Roy announced to the king.
"So, that's what those disgusting creatures look like." Queen Gwenivere hid her face behind her fan from the Archangel. The Archangel twitched and started to get up, but soldiers held it back down with their shock spears. The whole display was disgusting to General Meredith. She tried her very best to hide her anger and not go on a rampage in the courtroom.
Don't you dare stun my creation like it's some kind of animal! She wanted to yell out, but if she did, everything she worked so hard on will be ruined, so she had to play it off.
"And by under whose orders were you to capture this creature?" the king asked, and this was the General's cue to step in.
"It was under my orders, your Grace." General Meredith stepped forward and bowed to the king and queen. "I told Colonel Roy to investigate the killings and when he discovered the culprit to be this creature, I ordered him to bring it to us alive to study on."
"Then take it to the scientists. Get this disgusting creature out of my sight immediately!" King Alistaire commanded them, and they followed his orders. As they were about to leave the courtroom, General Meredith turned back to see her accomplices leisurely leaning against the wall, and they were staring back at her. Just before the doors closed, she was able to mouth out something.
You know what to do, she mouthed to them. Her accomplices turned around and walked away waving to let her know they understood.
At Lucks Heart Mage Academy...
"Brother, wake up we're gonna be late for our tour!" Julia shook me up, and I stumbled to my feet. After discovering my magical talents, the young lady made us students to this academy. It happened yesterday and I still wasn't sure how to feel about this situation. I remember telling myself that I was ready for a fresh start in our new lives, but after thinking to myself, I wasn't sure if I was prepared for this. Most of the kids that come here are around eight when they discover their magical talents, so there weren't a lot of fifteen and sixteen-year-olds in this academy. But luckily for us, they have us split where we would be attending class with our own age groups, so I guess that was alright.
I got dressed in the academy's uniform which was another thing that I won't get used to. The collar was too tight, the dress shirt was too fixed, and the pants were too stiff; I didn't feel mobile. "Ugh, I feel stiff in this getup." I tried to stretch, but it was hard to do.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I think I look cute in this uniform. What do you think?" Julia twirled her skirt around for me. Her uniform was completely different than mine. She was able to wear a skirt with a tucked in button-up shirt and cardigan. At least you get room for your legs to move.
"You look like a pig in a blanket with that on." I teased her.
"Rude much!" Julia responded with a hard kick to the gut. "Anyways, our tour guides are waiting for us outside our room, now come on."
"I swear Julia you'll kill me before this wound does." I held on to my gut as I got back up and followed her to the door. On the other side we only saw one of the tour guides and she was Julia's. Since we were two different types of mages, we need to go to different parts of the academy.
Julia's tour guide was a girl looking maybe a year older than me, light-skinned, short black hair, and had this bewitching look on her face. Another thing that I noticed was that she wore a frilled shirt under her cardigan instead of the academy's button shirt. "Good morning you two, I'm Leala Stone, and it's a pleasure to meet you."
"Hi, I'm James Kidd and this is my sister Julia." I introduced ourselves, and Leala giggled at us.
"Oh, I know who you are; you two are all everyone has been talking about since yesterday. The girl who was able to heal bones and the boy with the rock arm. You two have made a buzz already." Leala gave us an intriguing look but then grabbed Julia's hand. "Well, Julia, let me show you around the academy."
"Oh okay. Have fun today brother!" Julia waved goodbye.
"Yeah, you too." I waved back. I couldn't help but get this weird feeling from Leala that there was something more to what she said. Just be careful sis. When they were finally out of sight, I looked around, and my guide still wasn't around. Where the heck was my guide?
All of a sudden, I heard a ruckus coming from around the corner and saw someone about to careen towards me on a broom. I barely had enough time to get out of the way before the person crashed into the wall behind. "Geez, what's wrong with you? Are you trying to kill me?!"
The dust cleared, and I was able to see the person that almost hit me more clearly, it was a girl around my age. She wore a black robe instead of the cardigan and a witch's hat to go with it. The girl had fiery orange hair tied down in a ponytail, and big round glasses that she adjusted as she got up. "I'm sorry for running late." The girl said, and she looked up at me and stopped dead in her tracks. I noticed that she had a scratch on her cheek and leaned in closer.
"You have a scratch on your cheek." I pointed to it, and the girl's face went completely red. "Uh, it's fine it'll go away." she jumped away and looked back. "Wow, you're really him."
"What do you mean?" I asked her. "You're the guy that everyone has been talking about. Both you and your sister being strong mages even without any training and your arm," She pointed at my arm. "To be able to create a fully functional arm without learning anything prior means your family must be powerful creation mages."
"They probably were," I said, and the girl instantly understood what I meant.
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"Don't be, it doesn't get to me anymore like it used to. Anyways, I'm James Kidd, and you are?" I reached my hand towards her.
"I'm Uriela Strauss; it's a pleasure to meet you." Uriela shook my hand and smiled. "Now let me show you around the academy! Gildran!" she called out, and the broom flew between my legs and lifted Uriela off the ground. She flew back towards where she came from and I followed beside her. Uriela seems kinda shy. We didn't say much to each other until we got to the first stop which was my classroom.
The room was fairly large with a large chalkboard on one wall with half erased formulas and sigils for spells. "Whose classroom is this?"
