Over the past year, Julia and I have been training for the Magus Exam to graduate and find the Creator that Grandpa Oros mentioned. Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays are our days dedicated to training with our O.T.'s. On those days, we wouldn't go to school, so that means that Tuesdays and Wednesdays were dedicated to attending class and learning magic. On the weekends, Julia and I would have time off and we would spend both days with Uriela and Jackal, and let me say, those were some of the best times we had together. Jackal was always wanting to do something crazy, but it'd typically end up with me and him getting scolded by Head Mistress or other teachers. But when I was with Uriela, things were much calmer. Sometimes when I'd get too close to her, she would always get flustered and run away. For some reason, my heart would start racing, and my face would get a little red; and judging by how I've seen my helpless, romantic sister look at some guys, I must be getting the same feelings towards Uriela.

Maybe when I win the Magus Exam, I'll tell Uriela how I feel and see what the future holds for us.

The Magus Exam was just around the corner and I wanted to get a little bit of sparring in with Julia beforehand. We've been fighting for over three hours straight now and I was starting to get exhausted.

"Let's take a break Julia. We've been sparring for a while now." I fell on the floor, tired.

"Oh, come on James! I feel like I can go five more rounds!" Julia hopped around swinging her fists around so enthusiastically.

"Says the one who can draw energy around them, so they'll never get tired. I have stamina limit, unlike you." I pointed out, and she giggled at my remark.

"Fair point."

Ever since we began our training, I decided to teach Julia some hand-to-hand combat in case she needed it in a bad situation. To my surprise, she was pretty good at defending herself, but she still lacked the power to land a critical hit on her opponent. I don't know if it's because she's fighting me and doesn't want to hurt me, or if she just can't throw a decent punch. But she needs to learn real quick, because in less than a week is the Magus Exam and I want both of us to pass so we can go and explore Seraphim.

"You know, I noticed that there was a lot of openings you had that you could land a hit, but yet again you didn't try. Why is that Jules?"

"There was? I didn't even notice them." She shrugged at me.

That clearly was a lie. There must be some reason why she's not punching back.

I was about to continue on, but then we got a knock on the door, and she went over to open it just to have it swung open in her face. I then knew exactly who it was.

"You two sparring again!" Jackal came barging in.

"Jackal, you should really learn to wait for them to open the door for you." Uriela came in after shaking her head.

"Hey you two, what's up?" I waved at them.

"We came to let you know that registration for the Magus Exam is open now," Uriela informed us.

"Really? Then let's go!" I jumped up and ran out of the room with the others following behind me. For the past year, Julia and I have trained for this, and we feel confident that we can get through the exam and walk out as graduates.

The four of us got to the registration wall and signed up. There were three columns and with the names of students that were gonna participate, but I was honestly surprised that not a lot of students have signed up for the exam. In total there were only thirteen names, counting ours, that were on the wall. I didn't know how to feel about that. I don't know if it's supposed to be discouraging or that this wasn't an exam that shouldn't be taken lightly.
