"Sherman Oaks?"
My mom was just finishing telling me what we were going to be moving to where my old childhood friend Ben lived at.
I don't message him at all really. We were super close in elementary school and the beginning of middle school. We check up on each other every here and there, but it's safe to say we're two very different people.
Ben Gross. He's not gross though. He's actually a genuine kid, but he does love to get competitive with his smarts. I've heard about a girl Davy? I wanna say. To be fair i don't really know, i do know they always like to outsmart each other.
"Does Ben know we're moving there?" I asked my mom. She was super excited to be able to move to a bigger city like Sherman Oaks."
"His parents do, but they're not home very much, they're always gone. Safe to say Ben is pretty independent."
"That's sucks."
"I guess. Do you have everything packed?"
So, my mom decided to tell me that we were moving a while ago, but she didn't tell me where. I was excited, but i didn't care very much. Like i said Ben and I are super different.
I'm more laid back, don't care for school type of thing, but i am very smart, and i do my work, but if it's a big project, then i usually wait until last minute, and if it's late i don't really care.
I don't dress as a girly girl. I love to dress with a more casual look, except i do have some girly vibes. It's more of the jeans and a nice shirt, but i don't wear pink much. My style likes to change depending on how i feel, but I always put a crop top with everything.
"I do. Are we leaving in a few?" My mother nodded.

We arrived in Sherman Oaks It is super big. No wonder why Ben's family wanted to move here.
"Our house is over here." The neighbor was cute, and it wasn't too big. It was very sweet and little. Just how i like it.
"Your dad is going to meet us over here tomorrow. He's going to load up the rest of the stuff, and finish transferring over here." I nodded and started to grab a few of my bags in the trunk.
"Can we like meet our neighbors? I just wanna get to know the area you know?" I asked my mom.
"Sure, we can go together." I nodded and headed upstairs to where my room would be.
Our house was a medium size. It had two stories, but it wasn't too big. I think it was maybe one of the biggest houses in the neighborhood.
-
My mom and i finally got settled and decided to make little goody bags for the neighbors.
"These are cute." I point to the bags my mom finished. I only baked, I'm not too creative.
"Let's go."
My mom and i left the house and walked over to the house across from us. I stood behind my mom, because i didn't want to be the first one standing there when they opened it.
When the person answered the door, it was a lady, she was yelling at someone. She had a tan complexion, kinda like me, except i'm pretty sure she was Indian and not Cuban.
"Oh i'm sorry. Hi?" The lady greeted us. She was obviously confused. "Devi, are these people you know." A girl who looked my age came to the door and opened it a little more so she could fit.
"No i don't mom."
"You don't know this girl"
Devi rolled her eyes and shook her head. My mom glanced at me, and gave me a weird look.
