"If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went."
                            -Will Rogers

A few days have passed by after the successful Japanese counteroffensive. The longest days for the Senator and Mage Godasen and what was left of his entourage and remnants of his legions that were supposed to defend Alnus hill from any attack from the 'otherworld' army.

Many, scarred by the atrocious and destructive sorcery that was thought to be inconceivable that wreaked their legions in the hands of the otherworlders. Many saw their stalwart comrades fall without mercy nor glory by the otherworld army and the rain of terror brought upon by the steel dragons that dropped their 'eggs' on their camps and decimated their legions.

Godasen, partially injured from the bombings, along with the remaining survivors; took little to no rest to reach the Imperial Capital with haste to recount the battle instilled deeply into their minds to his fellow senators and lord. The sound of lighting and explosions from the otherworldly weapons still vivid and gnawing in their minds like parasites feasting in their brains.

From horses imbued with vitality spells to wyverns, what was supposed to be a ten-day trip took only five days for him. Upon his arrival at the capital on the early morning of the day, he was spared with little to no breaks as the Emperor, with haste, summoned all the senators to the imperial senate after receiving his message. The most influential nobles were all given the news of Godasen's battle.

The pride of their empire– the Saderan legions, have fought against the otherworld army and fell on a single day. Flying swords soar through the skies in shocking speed that was supposed to be unreachable that decimated their wyverns and ground army.

War was coming. That was the general consensus of the men who rule the empire that stood unopposed for 600 years. Unbeknownst by many that will now have their foundations shaken by the steel wave and raw emotions carried by the Japanese soldiers for the massacre and enslavement of their people. And for the many that still believes in their own might from their rich six hundred year history, it will only be too late until they realized that the control of the Gate by the Japanese will only be the beginning of the end.

Imperial Senate

The Senate– consisting of a number of senators and the emperor himself were present during what is considered as the second emergency meeting regarding the Gate.

While the emperor actually has the final authority on matters of state and government, it is the Imperial Senate along with the Imperial Army and various powerful nobles.

A crocodile pit seated by nobles and officers of the army that treat politics like a game or a chore, holding the defining political power to influence the Emperor's decisions and even overthrow and replace them. Overshadowing the smart and rational senators from voicing their opinions. A stain in their Empire that was long overdue.

After the swift and overwhelming victory of the otherworlders, the Senate slowly divides itself between those senators that realized that the only chance to survive was to make peace and a pro-war faction who falsely, or even downright delusionally, still believed they could win the war by some means and their strength.

The senator taking the stand at the center of the circular arrangement in front of many other senators including Emperor Molt was a middle-aged man with a wrinkled face, and short black hair who held the title of Marquis named Casel El Tiberius. He was a man with intelligence, intellect, but most of all extremely rational, cautious, and realistic; similar to his fellow senators who shared the same concern regarding the Gate.
