"Alaric?" Evelyn asked calling into the cell in the Salvatore house where he was

"Yep. Still me. You know you shouldn't be in here," Alaric said as she walked in

"Well, you still need the basics. Toothbrush, clothes, some boring books to help you sleep," Evelyn said

"Are you sure you're--? I mean, you don't have to be kept in here," Evelyn told him

"Ah, no, this is the right place for me to be. At least until you guys can convince my highly-uncooperative alter ego to fess up to where I, or he, hid the white oak stake," Alaric said

"We looked everywhere. The other you hid it well," Evelyn told him

"What's Klaus gonna do if he can't find it," Alaric asked

"It's the only thing that can kill him, wage war, murder people, ask me to help torture people. Klaus stuff. Listen...Stefan is gonna watch over you for a while. Elena and Damon are going to go to Denver to pick up Jeremy," Evelyn said

"Hello, Damon. What can I do for you?" Evelyn asked as Damon called her

"Tell your boyfriend to not kill us," Damon said through the phone

"Damn. Who told you?" Evelyn asked

"Wait what? He's your boyfriend!" Damon remarked

"Oops. Did I forget to mention that? Well, that's a conversation for another time, why did he try to kill you?" Evelyn asked

"I'm not sure but I killed him," Damon said

"What? No, no, no-" Evelyn started to say

"No, temporarily," Damon said

"Thank god, I'll try to convince him not to let him kill you," Evelyn said

"Thanks," Damon said and hung up

"Darling, my favorite person," Kol said though the phone as Evelyn called him

"Please don't kill Damon," Evelyn begged

"And why not? It's not like anyone will miss him," Kol said

"Kol, please just promise me you won't, for me," Evelyn pleaded

"Fine, I won't kill him, that doesn't mean I won't make him hurt," Kol said and hung up

Evelyn walked down the stairs to the cellar to see Stefan and Alaric drinking

"-Here I am, the failed hunter/drinking buddy," Alaric said

"Don't forget History teacher," Evelyn said walking in

"Ahh, he's too judgemental," Stefan said

"The thing is...he's me. I'm not compelled, I'm not possessed. There's not humanity switch. What drives him is me," Alaric told them

"No, no, he's not you, he's the darkest parts of you, parts we all have," Evelyn said

"Well, this is depressing, isn't it? Wheres the stake?" Klaus said walking in

"Yeah, well it's gonna take a little more time," Stefan told the hybrid

"Because we're waiting for him to pass out? No thanks. I'll just kill him," Klaus said

"No you won't," Evelyn said

"If you kill him you won't know the location of the other stake," Stefan said
