After Jenna explained all she found out about Isobel it shocked the twins

"Alaric's wife might have been your mother?" Stefan asked them later on that day

"It can't be true right?" Elena said

"I mean, the coincidence alone is just crazy. We have the address for her friend Trudie" Evelyn told Stefan

"You wanna talk to her" Stefan asked looking between the two

"I don't know. If it's true and they are the same person.." Elena started saying but stopped

"That means that our birth mother is dead" Evelyn finishing knowing Elena didn't want to admit it

"I don't know if I could handle that," Elena said looking down

Evelyn and Elena just hugged each other sad that she might be deaf

"Did Jenna tells you anything about Alaric's wife? How she died?" Stefan asked the girls

"Just that she was killed and the case was never solved" Elena told her boyfriend

"You know that already?" Evelyn asked seeing the look on Stefan's face

"The night at the school when he attacked me. He told me some things about her death" Stefan informed them

"Well-" Elena stayed saying

"No, no. It's not possible" Stefan said

"I gotta go deal with Damon," Stefan told the girls

"How's he doing?" Evelyn asked Stefan

"He's dealing, in his own way," Stefan told them

Later on that day the twins were standing in front of Trudie's house

They walked up the stairs. Elena was about to knock on the door but stopped, Evelyn just knocked and waited

Just as they were about to walk away the door opened revealing a blonde woman

"Trudie? Trudie Peterson?" Evelyn asked

"Yes?" She said softly

"Uh, my name is Elena Gilbert and my sister Evelyn gilbert. We wanted to talk to you about Isobel Fleming" Elena said to Trudie

"Well, I haven't heard that name in years. How do you know her?" The woman asked

"I think that, um, well... do you know if she had twins that she gave up for adoption?" Evelyn asked nervously

"Oh, my god. You're her daughters. I was just going to make some tea would you like some?" Trudie said

"Sure," They both said

"Uh, the kitchens this way," She said opening the door

Evelyn noticed how she didn't invite them in but thought nothing open and just walked through the door

"We weren't gonna come. We didn't think we were. But I was driving and I hit this stoplight. And it made me think about when I was learning to drive and my mum would always warn me about this blind turn on the left side and I was thinking about my mum and..." Elena said starting to ramble

"We had your address. Sorry for barging in" Evelyn explained

"It's no problem. Um, just a surprise though. I haven't seen Isobel in years" Trudie told them as they sat down

"When was the last time you saw her?" Elena questioned

"About 17 years ago, when she left to go have you. We kept in touch for a while, but, well you know people drift apart" Trudie told them
