"Come on Jeremy going to school," Elena said as she and Evelyn walked down the stairs

"Walking our to door now" Evelyn shouted

"You forgot this" Jenna said handing her a book

Evelyn opened the door to reveal their Uncle John

"Girls," John said enthusiastically

"Uncle John, hi?" They both said

"Jenna," John said awkwardly

"John. You made it" Jenna said faking happiness

"Uncle John, what's up?" Jeremy said walking down the stairs

"Hey. I had some business in town. I thought a visit was in order" John explained

"How long are you staying?" Evelyn asked

"I don't know yet," John said thoughtfully

"Well, we are going to school. See you later" Elena said dragging Evelyn out the door

"Hey Ty," Evelyn said coming up behind Tyler

"Hey, what are you doing?" He asked her while giving her a hug

"Wanted to see how you were doing. How is everything?" Evelyn asked. She and Tyler were very close when they were little but had drifted since her parent's accident

"As good as can be. They say she OD'd" Tyler said referring to Vicki

"I know it's sad. You know if you need me I'm here, like always" Evelyn said to him knowing the truth of what actually happened to Vicki

"I made a copy of a paper that Jeremy wrote for me," Alaric said to the twins as they were in his classroom

Evelyn took the paper and paled at the title 'The truth of vampires in Mystic Falls'

"Jeremy wrote this?" Evelyn asked the teacher

"He was very clear he didn't think it was real," Alaric said with a sigh

"I really hope you're right because we have done so much to protect him from all this" Elena said

"So how do you deal with this?" Alaric asked looking between the twins

"What do you mean?" Evelyn asked confused

"With all the lies and the secrets. You have to lie to everyone who's important to you" Alaric asked them

"I honestly don't know. I have just got it through my head that them knowing is as good of them as being dead. There's so much danger knowing this and I don't know I could survive if I lost them. That might be selfish but I don't want to lose them" Evelyn told the teacher honestly

"So, yes, we keep it from them only because we love them" Elena finished

"I think Stefans a good guy. But at the end of the day, he's still a vampire" Alaric said leaning against the desk

"I know it's hard to understand but Stefans different. He would never do anything to hurt me" Elena said

After Elena left the History classroom. Evelyn decided to stay back needing to talk to Alaric about something

"I need your help," Eve asked him

"What do you need?" Ric asked her

"I need you to teach me how to protect myself. I'm in danger so much that I've almost died multiple times and I could've prevented that if I knew how to fight back" Evelyn admitted
