Chapter 67

Julia's POV

Staring into his hazel eyes as he grasps my wrist, his eyes surrounded by sadness. What is he doing here in Brooklyn or New York for that matter. Camila said he moved away but i thought it would have been somewhere completely different. 

"Jules?" Angel says, still holding my wrist in her hand as Ash holds the other. I can't believe i'm staring at him right now, after two years...I last seen him at the hospital as i hid around the corner. 

"Can...uhm, we talk?" He stands from the stool still holding my wrist, I pull my hand away knowing his touch does the absolute worst to me. It makes me gooey inside and drinking alcohol will make it worse. 

"Okay.." I quietly say with a nod. 

He glances around finding an empty table, he looks back to me and I know what he is going to ask, I force out a smile and nod making my way to the empty table. The square table has two seats, one right beside another. 

I sit down pulling at my black leather skirt feeling insecure, ever since he was sat beside that beautiful tattooed woman. He sits down beside me, his eyes haven't left me once.

"What brings you to New York?" I ask first. I'm beginning to think he doesn't actually stay here, it's strange that i haven't ran into him once.

"I go to college here, I'm guessing you go to a college here too?" 

"Yeah NYU, I have a few months left before I graduate" I tell him looking away from his intense gaze. He seems so different.

"That's great, that's a good college. I bet you can't wait until you graduate" He forces out a chuckle.

"Asher, how are you?" I question studying his face, he seems different and it's not a happy different. 

"I'm good, how are you?" He lies and for some reason I know he's lying.

"Whose bad at lying now?" I giggle softening my eyes towards him as he rubs the back on his neck with a small smile, "Asher, truthfully. How are you feeling?" 

"Uhm..I have my good and bad days, do you want a drink?" He rushes.

"Yeah sure", He stands up heading towards the bar, I think i'll need a drink for a deep conversation that I know will come. I see Angel stumbling over to me and I smile at her when she reaches the table.

"Liam is coming to pick me up so you coming?" Her words slurred. I glance behind her in direction to the bar seeing Asher talking to that beautiful tattooed girl with short black hair as he waits for our drinks. 

"I think i'm going to stay..." When she frowns I continue, "I haven't seen him in years, Angel. I would be lying if i said i didn't desperately want to talk to him to see how he's doing" I glance back over to him, watching him heading over with a glass of something, the girl at the bar looking at him as he walks away from her, her eyes meet mine and I look away.

He sits down placing the glass in front of me and then looks away as if he doesn't want to interrupt my conversation with Angel,  "Ben will be there..you sure you don't want to come? How will you get back to the dorms?" She makes sure, I know she's worried for me like usual and she's so sweet that she makes sure i'm 100%. 

"Yeah I'm sure, I'll take a cab"

"Okay, call me when you get to the dorms because I'm staying at Liams" 

"Okay" I stand up giving her a hug, "Do you want me to wait until he's here?" I question ensuring her safety. 

"He's already here" She smiles, "Be safe" she glances at Asher before stumbling away from me with a little wave.
