Jay POV

Lightning bounced off of the walls again. Thunder could be heard echoing throughout small cube that Jay could be seen in. He was floating, the ground of the cube not touching his feet. He couldn't seem to breathe, and that was what scared him. He couldn't breathe, so shouldn't he have died by now? What was going on?

"You need to tell him the truth, Libbie!"

"I will as soon as you tell him yours, Cliff!"

"It is your fault that Nelson is dead, Jay!"

"You baby me too much, Jay."

"LET ME OUT OF HERE!"

Jay placed his hands on the sides of the cube to no avail. The cube seemed to be shrinking. It appeared to try and devour him whole. He held his breath as he looked for a way out. As the cube closed in, the voices became louder.

"How did I end up with a son like you?"

"It is the only way that he will have a chance at a normal life, Cliff."

"I love you, Jay. I'm sorry that we aren't going to see you grow up."

"He is probably just another brat."

"Now now. This is going to hurt just a little bit."

Jay placed his hands on his ears as the shouting got louder. He couldn't hear his own thoughts anymore. His body slowly started to fold into itself. The cube was getting smaller, and the lightning was bouncing off of his face. The lightning was leaving burn marks on his face and along his arms. Everything felt like it was on fire. Everything hurt way too much.

"Stop struggling! We need to figure out your brainwaves!"

"Well kid, this isn't called a psychiatrics hospital for nothing."

"We are going to have to put a tube in the back of his head. It is the only way to get the drugs in."

"NELSON!!! COME BACK!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!! NELSON!"

Then, blackness seemed to elude him. The cube had finally broke, and with it, brought the silence. All Jay could see was darkness. The ground was made up with water. Water that he could walk on top of? Jay looked around as he tried to find some sort of sound. There was nothing.

He looked down towards the water. He couldn't see his reflection in the water at all. His feet slowly began to disappear. The only thing he saw now was the lightning that seemed to make a path for him in waves, pointing him in some sort of direction. He looked back the way he came, before turning and running with the lightning. The voices at first were almost whispers as he followed, but then it got louder.

"Kai raised me most of my life, remember?"

"I'm not going to let you go in there by yourself."

"You have extortionary abilities, Jay."

"There are no monsters under the bed. I took care of them all last night you silly goose."

"LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"

Jay noticed his ears slowly start to bleed as the noise got louder. His arms began to ache as they approached the source, but he tried not to notice it too much. It was the only way. He was tired of appearing in that same cube. He needed answers. What did those voices want?

Jay noticed that along with the voices, scenes started to play out in front of him. It was memories. These voices were all memories. Why were they so cold? Why were the ones that were happy odd? The voices started to turn into unfamiliar ones. Memories that played before him were memories that he never had before. They were someone else's.

"You aren't ready for this yet, Scott."

"Yes I am Milton! I am not some child!"

"If you go back there, I don't know that we could get you out."

"Please Scott."

"No Nelson. I need to do this. Go see Akita, okay? Then, go home."

"I'm not leaving you."

"LEAVE NELSON! LEAVE AND NEVER COME BACK!"

Jay watched the scene play out in front of him. Over half of his body was gone now. It had faded quickly as he watched the transaction. What was Nelson doing there? Why did he look like Jay's age? Who were these people?

"Turn around, Jay. Stop looking for the answers. You aren't ready yet."

"Nelson? What is going on?

"The truth is too painful! You aren't ready for it. You need to wake up, Jay. Just wake up! Hurry, before he finds you!"

"Before who finds me? What are you talking about?"

"You are running out of time. He is going to find you. WAKE UP!!!"

"I lost you once. I cannot lose you again."

"Goodbye, brother."

I woke up with a start. Tears slowly went down my face, and my arms still felt the burning that it had in the dream. Everything seemed to stand still. I haven't dreamed about Nelson in years. It was something that I purposefully blocked out of my head.

He was trying to protect me. I didn't know what it was, but it was putting together a story. There was something that I was missing. All of my dreams began in the same room. The same cube with the lightning bouncing off of it. The voices calling towards me.

Generally, I woke up before the cube shattered. Tonight was the first night that I was able to travel beyond the cube. The parts of my body that faded felt cold. I felt freezing. My hand went towards my ear, and I saw blood on my hands from my ear. I could barely hear my own thoughts.

I went to my bathroom and quickly took care of my ears. I wasn't going to tell anyone about this. Nobody needed to worry about him. He had bigger things to worry about. Who was Scott, Milton, and Akita? What did they know about Nelson?

I walked towards my balcony and looked back at my room. There was only on person that I wanted to see at this point. There was only one person that would be able to answer my questions. I felt my chest tighten at the thought before I quickly shook my head. I took one last glance towards my bedroom before I jumped.
