i think the hardest lesson, but also the most valuable lesson, i've ever learned in my life is:

no one cares as much as you want them to.

especially in the age of social media. some people care, and they'll read what you post and they'll care and they might even talk to you about it, but the vast majority don't. they won't read your rant because it's too long for them, they won't comment on your yolo because they have nothing to say, they won't like your meme.

hell, no one will read this. the irony is tangible.

the truth in life is that no one cares about you as much as you think they do. some people might see this fact as sad, because you want people to care, but i see it as liberating.

no one gives a shit about how you look, because 90% of the time they're too worried about themself. so why care about their opinion?

this idea to me is liberating. because it means you can't live for others, you have to live for yourself.
