one of the best things about my job is that they treat me like an adult.

okay, maybe not an adult but they treat me like a capable human and i really appreciate it.

it's refreshing. between school, where i'm expected to act like an adult even though i'm treated like a child, and my own family, where i'm treated like a literal fucking infant, it's refreshing.

i'm not in a big rush to grow up, believe me, but it's nice to be treated like i'm capable.

they don't sugar coat anything, they don't censor their words, and they don't break down things unnecessarily. it's nice, being around my manager who will flat out tell me "this shit is fucking disgusting" rather than my mother who literally says "this is yucky". i know she's a preschool teacher and that's all she knows, but my god read a parenting book and learn how to not say "potty" around your 16 year old.

this is turning into a "my mom treats me like an infant and i'm fucking sick of it" rant.

my bad.

anyways, i like my job. the end.
