We Love You Monty

It is with great distress to know that our beloved animator, cosplayer, and all around friend, Monty Oum, has passed away yesterday at 4:34 pm due to a severe allergic reaction during a simple medical procedure.

I have been watching Rooster Teeth ever since the beginning; my father and brother welcoming me into the arms of the company that has made my life better and more enjoyable. Everyone at Rooster Teeth is more to me than just some random people on YouTube with over a million subscribers...they are my family. I have known them 11 years and even though I have yet to meet them, I love them with all of my heart.

Monty was one of the best people there. He was actually the one to encourage me to continue my drawing when I believed I sucked or failed. He gave me joy when he was on podcasts or doing anything really. He was one of my inspirations in this world and now that he's gone, I feel lost without him. He was only 33 and such an amazing person that I had the desire to meet him.

I didn't find out about his death until an hour or so ago. The reason was because my dad hid the news from me because he knew my reaction would be bad and he couldn't bear to see me as I am now; crying hard and broken. I have been crying the whole time and can't picture Rooster Teeth without Monty.

I have donated to the cause his wife, Sheena and his family have created and will be donating more. I will also be creating a painting/drawing for the drive that Rooster Teeth has created where you can send in drawings or anything creative for Monty.

Monty was our friend and most importantly family. Please do not forget him and always keep him in your heart and thoughts.
