Rivers P.o.V
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ty and Brick look at each other in amusement, to which I gave them a withering look.
"Sorry, boss.", smirked Ty, stepping a little closer to us.
"You're all soooo boring", she made a gesture with her hands to show us how bored we were.
Sighing, I turned away and sat down at the table.
"Can someone shut her up?"
"Pffffff," she sat down with me and made a serious expression.
"I'm never giving you alcohol again.", I sighed, setting my gun aside as it pressed uncomfortably into my stomach from sitting.
"Why? Are you scared I would do somethingstupid?", she grinned.
"Because you're annoying."
She looked at me sheepishly. "So do you."
"You're acting like a kid, and I hate kids."
"Kids are great..."
"Yeah, when they're throwing up all over your place, just screaming all the time and destroying your stuff, they're wonderful... you're absolutely right, I love kids.", I grumbled sarcastically, looking down at my phone to text Keith when I realized I had no reception thanks to the concrete walls.
"Most kids don't. Me and Anastasia were angels."
"And yet you were passed on.", I spoke irritably.
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
"Children are a beautiful thing."
"It's the only way I know kids.", I replied again, annoyed, and stood up to end the conversation.
"Because you're stupid.", she soon fell asleep at the table.
Rolling my eyes, I waited for my people to arrive, which happened after a good four hours. A loud banging sounded as someone knocked on the metal hatch. I indicated to Ty and Brick to be quiet before quietly climbing the ladder and opening the lid.
When I was relieved to find that it was indeed my men, I stepped out of the bunker, whereupon Brick and Ty followed me. Whereas the latter had woken Lucy up before.
She rubbed her eyes and climbed up anxiously.
"Any casualties?", I asked composedly as I saw a couple bleeding from various parts of their bodies.
Fortunately, the two who had actually wanted to come with us were among the uninjured. Lucy looked at me briefly, fear flickering in her eyes. She winced when she heard a crack.
"One got hit... But the rest are fine."
Swallowing, James stepped forward and handed me the bracelet we each wore.
"Fabi.", I stated, confused and also a little sad.
"There was an ambush... He sacrificed himself for us."
Lucy's P.o.V
I made a decision. Never again would someone lose their life because of me. And I ran as fast as I could.... I didn't turn around for several minutes, didn't see River and his people, and kept running as fast as I could. With tears in my eyes, destroyed that someone had lost his life because of me, I soon realized that I didn't know where I was anymore, that's how deep I had run into it. I looked for a hiding place under the roots of a fallen tree and curled up. No one would find me... And that was good.
For a moment I thought. Silas would find me... But River doesn't know about my search dog.... So I stayed relaxed and curled up, soon falling asleep exhausted from running.

"Hey River, your protégé took off."
Brick scratched the back of his neck uncertainly, whereupon I sighed in annoyance.
"I don't care now.... I've been busting my ass for her long enough, if she thinks she can get along without me, I wish her a good time when the mob finds her."
With those words, I got in the car and drove away.
"Where is she?" Hissed Kai as I silently played a tune on my guitar.
"Somewhere in the woods... Have fun looking."
Indignantly, he took a step forward, but flinched back when I gave him a warning look.
"Colin won't like that.", Keith said calmly, to which I shrugged.
"He doesn't give a shit about her anyway, otherwise he would have taken her and not Kelly. Besides, if you guys want to find her so bad...she's wearing a tracking device.... But she doesn't want to be found, so I don't give a shit where she is either."
"How, where is she?"
Mutely, I referred to the device lying on the table. "She's ten minutes from here, so if she's running in the right direction, she might even make it here."
On the radar it showed movement, but of course she was running in the wrong direction, I had noticed myself lately that her orientation sucked.
Annoyed, I looked at the tracking device.
"Well...she's fifteen minutes from here. She could still make it if she turns around now."
She must have settled down, because the dot didn't seem to move. It stayed there for the next few minutes and then moved away again in the wrong direction.
"Well... I'll go get her.", I hissed, reaching for my cell phone and car keys.
After a good twenty minutes, I arrived at the edge of the woods near her and turned off the engine.
"I would have to get a fucking Nobel Peace Prize for that.", I grumbled as I turned on my flashlight and followed the signal.
I exhaled with relief when I finally found her and it was already past midnight. She was lying soulfully huddled behind a large rock, asleep.
