Although Heejin's plan to go back home and be alone with Axel was to tell the rest she was not feeling too well after a while out, she did not need to say anything because they all genuinely thought she was not feeling well because of how quiet she was, and it even worried Axel.
She was thinking about what Juiyu had told her before and completely forgot about everything else. She was thankfully in touch with her emotions to a certain extent, so she did not take long to realise that the reason she was in a better mood was because she had no pressure on her shoulders ever since she got there. She did not have to worry about the Kim family, about her brothers, and, even if they still had to record their evaluation, she was not as stressed as she would have been in Korea because they were balancing their resting time and their practice time far better than she would have ever done.
The key factor in that was the Kim family. Not knowing when they would visit and having to worry about being caught took a toll on her, so being free even for a short time made her feel at ease, something she was not used to.
"Heejin, I think we should go back home," Axel said as they walked around town. "You don't look okay."
"Don't worry, I'm all right," she said looking at him with a very small smile.
"Let's go back. It's clear you are not," Eunae told her. "You haven't said a word since we left, and it's been more than an hour."
"You wanted to go out and party. I'm not going to ruin the night for you," Heejin said, starting her plan. "We can go to a nightclub or something. It's fine."
"Not with you like this."
"Look, I'll take Heejin home, and you go out, all right?" Axel said, quickly understanding what she was doing. "It's not like I like partying, anyway."
"But it's your birthday. I'll do it," Duyi joined in, trying to make Eunae believe it more easily.
"It's fine, I swear. I'll take care of her. You three go and have fun. It's the first time you've been here and I don't want you missing out on the experience." Axel turned to Heejin. "Shall we go, then?"
"I seriously don't want to ruin the night, guys," Heejin insisted.
"Just shut up already and go back home," Eunae told her. "And rest! I'd rather you rest and recover quickly than record the evaluation videos with you sick, so go back home quickly and rest."
As far as they could tell, Eunae seemed to have believed it, so they wasted no time and finally said goodbye before she suspected anything, but not before Duyi and Juiyu winked at them and waved playfully. It was embarrassing for them to know what their intentions were, but they knew that it was most likely the best chance they had since they would be out until late, his parents were not home, and they would not need to worry about anything else.
Since the park they were at was not that far away, they were back at the house rather quickly and they both took off their shoes and jackets, putting them away before going to the living room and sitting down in silence; a silence that lasted for a few minutes.
"Well... this is awkward," Axel said breaking the silence.
"I'm going to drink some water. I'll be right back," Heejin said standing up and going to the kitchen.
Although they already knew what was going to happen, it would be her first time and she was very nervous about it. She had nearly done it with Haeun once but, as soon as she touched her hair, she could not handle it and immediately stopped. She was also young and not even the least bit confident, which did not help.
That day things were different, however, as she felt comfortable around Axel and she was far more confident as well as older. She also loved him, something she would have never even imagined saying about Haeun, which was a major factor.
