"Leaving already?" Dara asked Heejin as she left the main building. "It's barely nine."
"I want to unpack everything and all of that," Heejin lied. "Where did you go? I thought you were inside."
"I was just calling someone," she said pointing to her ring finger to let her know that it was Joontae without saying it aloud so Heejin's microphone would not catch it. "Well, I'll go back inside now. Rest well!"
"Yes, thank you!"
One of the things that confused Heejin the most about Joontae and Dara's relationship at that moment was that they had said they would reveal it once Dara's dating ban was over, yet it still had not happened. She at first thought it was so fans of either group would not attack each other, but as far as she could see everyone was rather supportive and were ardently waiting for them to reveal it, so it did not make sense to her.
Once she reached her bedroom, Heejin took out her new phone and turned it on. She had not used it yet, so she did not even know what it had or which contacts were in it. She sat down on her bed and looked at all the things it had.
"A music program, the KEW app... fairly standard," she said before opening the contacts. "The girls, mentor A, mentor K, mentor H, infirmary, staff... Oh, Axel too. Wait, who's this one?"
The last contact was labelled just as 'K', so she had no idea who it could be. She thought at first it was either the same as mentor 'K' or someone that would join later on in the program but, right then, her phone rang and it was 'K' so she panicked for a second before picking it up.
"Say the name of three brands out loud," the other person said.
"What?" Heejin asked confused and hesitated although still did it. "LG, Nintendo, Audi?"
"Okay, we're good now. I'm Axel, by the way, in case you did not recognise the number."
Heejin was shocked to hear that but soon a smile creeped up her face.
"What's going on? Why do I have this number?" she asked him.
"I may or may not have stolen your phone before to do this. I need your help, though, to make this work. Whenever we talk, you need to play a copyrighted song to make the audio unusable and wear clothes with a brand name on it so they can't use the video."
"You really thought of everything, right? Skoda."
"I see you're getting the hang of it. I'm not saying anything because I have no microphone on right now and no cameras around."
"I have nothing to play music with, though," she said as she changed into her Levi's top. "I'm using the phone and they took away our things."
"Don't you have a tablet or something in the room? I thought they gave them to you. Check in the wardrobe."
Quickly Heejin moved to the wardrobe to check inside, and she then saw a small box with a tablet that she took out and turned on. It was the brand-new version of the one she had, so she was already familiar with it and quickly turned it on, opened a music app and played a song that she most definitely thought would be difficult to use during the program.
"Okay, we're good now," Heejin said and finally laid down on the bed to relax. "Is this what we are going to have to do every single time?"
"Sadly yes. I'll try to talk to the CEOs about it, but for now we should do this to not risk it. I'm sorry..."
"Why would you be? It's not your fault."
"But still. We are doing this because of me, which makes it my fault."
