As Heejin had finished arranging the whole song that night and they had already recorded the demo for the track, the only thing they had left to do was create the choreography. Destiny, however, was not on their side as the five winners of the first task were asked to leave the next afternoon to have their master classes. Although for the other team that only meant losing two members and the ones that stayed could still work on the song as Zia was among them, in their case only Minako and Heejin had to stay and they had already finished the song, so they technically had nothing else to do as the main dancers of their team were gone.
Still, they decided to not waste time and went to their practice room to at least practice their vocals but with what had happened the night before things were uncomfortable, especially for Minako, who did not know what to say as Heejin was lost in her thoughts.
Although it was not unusual for Heejin to be quiet, working and thinking about anything and everything, that time was quite different. It almost felt like she was a whole other person and not the Heejin they knew, which made them even more worried about her.
"I know we still haven't divided the lyrics so, should we do that?" Minako finally asked her after a few minutes of practicing the whole song together. "We can always change it later when the rest are back."
"Yes, sure. Let me get lyrics."
Heejin then quickly picked up the tablet from her bag and opened the lyrics before sitting by the laptop with Minako so they could stop the song whenever they wanted or needed to.
"When writing the song yesterday I honestly was thinking about how to do it and the first thing that came to mind was who should be the starting centre," Heejin told Minako as she played around with her pen. "Nari should be the centre since she won first place but this time I was thinking of having a starting centre, a vocal centre and a dance centre."
"What do you mean by that?"
"Since during several parts we sing together, the person in the centre could be any of us. Maybe that one could be Nari while Xia, for example, could have the most impactful lines."
"And where would that leave you?" Minako stopped her. "You need to remember your position within the ranking, Heejin. Sure, no one is going to be eliminated until the final episode, but you need to make sure to attract attention to yourself as well."
"And I will be able to do that, don't worry about me," she assured her, even though she was clearly lying. "Now, for you I was thinking of obviously half of the raps, but also the start and ending centre to catch attention. You did not get that many votes on the previous round because your specialty is rapping and not singing and you did not stand out as much as the others, so let's make sure you truly shine this time."
"Heejin..."
"If you don't agree with it just tell me! I don't want to do this by myself, I'm just giving you ideas."
Part of Minako wanted to scold Heejin for what she was doing, but she also understood that at that moment she really did not want the spotlight. It was obvious that she was acting differently, and she did not want to attract any unwanted comments with it.
"Let's work hard together and climb up the ranks, okay?" Minako said sticking out her pinkie finger as a promise. "You are the invincible leader, so let's make it this time again."
"Let's make it together," Heejin agreed, sealing their promise.
Although they were alone, they worked on the line distribution carefully but quickly, timing each part so it was fair not only in terms of impact but also in terms of time. Some of them had more lines than others, but in some cases it was natural, such as for example the vocalists having more seconds than the rap line as raps were quicker.
