Heejin's mood immensely dropped after her conversation with Alix and not even the release of her song with Axel helped. She was getting a lot of hate comments through the KEW app as well as under the music video, and not even Axel managed to calm them down. He even went live to promote the song and told everyone to calm down and not comment about Heejin that way, but that only fired them even more as he was defending her.
Dealing with not being able to work on her song with Nari, the hate comments, and thinking about what Alix had told her took a toll on her and she sometimes struggled to go to the company just to rehearse. She even avoided seeing Axel just so he would not worry about her. The worst part? She was proving Alix right. She was not ready to debut. She was weak.
As she had to still work on her evaluation despite not doing it with Nari, she had to choose another song or songs to prepare. She could create another one for herself, but she did not like any of the ones she had already created and she had no inspiration to write another one, so she opted for doing a cover instead. She had to dance and sing, so she decided to do Shin Dara's «Play» and prepared that.
Although she was in a horrible mood, she still pushed through her rehearsals both at home and at the company. The day Mrs Kim would be back at her house was nearing, so she genuinely could not waste her time.
"How can I make this look okay without dancers?" she muttered to herself as she watched the part in which Dara danced with a dancer. "Whatever, let's just do it."
Learning dances for her was not difficult, but she was a perfectionist and perfecting them took her a lot of hours since she wanted to make sure everything was just the way she wanted. Rehearsing alone did not help either, as when in a group they could encourage the others and keep the mood high but on her own she had to silently endure hours of practice.
Frustrated, Heejin stopped the music and checked the time, seeing she had been dancing for hours without stopping. She then decided to take a break and went to the room for trainees on the ground floor where they could spend time together, work, or just relax during their free time. The room was empty since everyone was working on the dance rooms at that moment, so she was able to play the music video on the television there without having to worry about bothering someone.
"I did this wrong," she muttered as she watched it. "Why did I do this to myself? I'm not a dancer. I should have stuck to something easy."
Sighing, she ran her fingers through her hair and turned to the side, and she was startled to see someone looking at her through the glass door.
"Shit!" she let out unconsciously and clutched her chest.
The door then opened, and she was even more surprised when she saw Shin Dara, Ryu Haeil and Hikaru.
"Hello! We heard my song and I wanted to check who was here," Dara told her. "Long time no see!"
"Wait, what the heck?!" she exclaimed. "What are you three doing here?"
"People usually say hello," Haeil joked. "We came to talk to your bosses. Our CEO is upstairs already, but we had to stop."
"Sorry, yes. Hello. I was just shocked," she said, noticing how rude she had sounded. "I was taking a break from practice. I was feeling a bit stressed and thought I should rest for a while."
"Do you have the monthly evaluations soon?" Hikaru asked her and she nodded. "Oh, good luck, then!"
"Which song are you doing?" Dara asked her curiously.
"I was supposed to be doing one with Nari, another trainee, but she won't be able to attend the evaluation and I'll be doing a cover of your song instead," she explained. "I don't know how I'll do the part that's a couple dance on my own, but I guess I will come up with something."
