One morning around a week and a half before the program, Alix and Soojin went to visit Heejin at the practice room while she was practicing her dancing by doing other group's songs. At that moment she had just started dancing along to C1K's «Ice Age», which surprised the CEOs.
"Oh, hello!" Heejin said about to stop the music.
"No, please, finish! I want to see it," Alix told her.
Nodding, she went back to dancing along to the song. She had not particularly learnt one of the members' parts and just learnt a mix of them, so it allowed her to give it her own flavour easily instead of trying to mimic that member's expressions and mannerisms.
Although Heejin was not the best dancer in the company, she had been polishing her technique and improving with the teachers and CEOs' guidance for five years, so she still was one of the top dancers in the company. If it were not for her mediocre rapping skills, she would have been an all-rounder, but her tone did not suit rapping that much.
"That was really good!" Soojin said once the song was over. "Did you know that the new trainees are actually doing it for their evaluation?"
"I had no idea! How are they doing?" Heejin curiously asked before drinking some water.
"Some of them have trouble memorising choreographies and since this is a very fast-paced one, even more," Soojin told her. "But, anyway, go back to the first verse, where Axel has his solo part. Do that once more."
Nodding, Heejin played that part again and repeated her gestures and expressions.
"Okay, stop," Soojin said stopping the music. "Don't look down during that part, look forward and instead raise your chin slightly. It may seem subtle, but it makes a big difference. One looks intimidating while the other one gives off confidence. Try it."
Doing as told, she repeated that part again but considering her advice and it really made it look vastly different. It was clear why Soojin was named as the best dancer of her generation.
"Now, you are also too tense while improvising in that part. Don't try to do what he does and instead go with the music. Do what your body tells you."
To make it clearer, Soojin played the song again and improvised that part, giving it the same feeling but not being exactly the same, which made her stand out more since you could tell the movements were not forced at all and she was enjoying herself.
"I seriously just love when the girls do boygroup choreographies," Alix admitted, speaking to Soojin. "It shows a different type of coolness. I am not saying they are necessarily harder, but the expressions and the way the moves are delivered tends to be different."
"I totally get what you mean," Soojin said. "Heejin's skills and visuals also suit these styles a lot."
"But, anyway, let's actually do what we came here for," Alix said. "You can discuss the dance and all later."
"Yes, sorry. I couldn't help myself."
"Heejin, we were discussing some things about the program with the rest of the girls and, among them, a theme song came up. We were going to make it ourselves at first, but we thought that we should ask you if you wanted to make one. The reason we are asking you and not Zia or Eunae is because this task is probably even harder than any we have ever given you before during the evaluations, and you are most likely the only one who would know where to even start."
"You are saying that because of the line distribution, keeping the theme about the program, making it suit everyone and all of that, right?" Heejin asked her.
"Precisely. I knew you would understand straight away. What do you think, then? Are you up for the challenge?"
"But why are you asking me if I may know? I am not talking about why you are precisely asking me, but more about why you want us to create the song instead of doing it yourselves. I am curious."
