Y/N: Sorry for any spelling errors. I wanted to post the chapter quickly since I haven't posted in a while and haven't been able to proofread it.
In order to not let the comments affect her, Heejin had decided to not check the public response to the relationship announcement and just listened to what her friends and seniors told them they were all saying. In general, the public response was better than expected, so she knew she'd benefit from only paying attention to that instead of reading every single comment out there.
They spent the rest of the day working out or rehearsing, so she did not have a lot of time to think about it anyway. Even the morning after, when Juiyu and Heejin woke up earlier than the others naturally, instead of using that time to relax they instead decided to go to one of the practice rooms and rehearse a song together; one that they had learnt for fun back at the company instead of for an evaluation.
[HYUNJIN: HEEJIN ; JUIYU - CHAN]
Although they didn't have a chain they did have a rope in the practice room, so they used it to rehearse «Red Lights» together. It was a dance that they both really enjoyed, so they chose to learn it together as being comfortable was definitely a must taking into account the steps they did. Even if they learnt it for fun, however, they always went full out when dancing to it.
"Woah, okay!" Hyunjin said as he went inside the practice room while they danced. "What's going on?"
Instead of stopping, they just continued dancing and smiled at their senior, who sat in front of the mirror to watch them. To any other person that would have felt intimidating, but Heejin and Juiyu were used to having their seniors watch them perform their songs, so they just tried to show the best rendition of the performance as possible.
"Chen Juiyu! Jang Ruby!" Hyunjin chanted as he applauded them. "Wow, that was awesome!"
"Thank you." Both girls bowed.
"It was definitely not what I was expecting you to be rehearsing so early in the morning, but it was still really good." He chuckled. "I'll ask the staff to send me the videos from this room later. I have to show them to Chan."
"It was nothing special, you don't have to," Juiyu told him.
"I know you are just trying to change my mind just so I don't show it to anyone and let me tell you that won't work." Hyunjin caught them, making them laugh. "Anyway, I came here for another reason."
"What is it?" Heejin asked curiously.
"Well, of course to wish you a happy birthday! What else could it be?" Hyunjin answered with a smile. "You are turning twenty-two already. Time sure flies!"
"Shit!" Juiyu exclaimed and turned to her best friend. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I totally forgot what day it was! I'm so sorry!"
As Juiyu panicked, Heejin just assured her it was all okay since not even she had remembered it was her birthday. Between rehearsals and what happened just the previous day her birthday was the last thing on her mind. She wasn't one to celebrate it other than with her closest friends and just by eating out together or having some coffee, so it didn't matter to her at all.
"You should all go out today and have some fun," Hyunjin told them. "I was talking to Soojin yesterday about how you need to de-stress a bit before the final, so what better excuse than to go out together?"
