81. DANCE IS THE LANGUAGE OF JOY

"Good morning..." Axel muttered with his eyes half-closed and his hood on as he went to the rooftop, where Heejin was already dancing. "I'm so tired!"

"Why are you here, then? There is not a wake-up call for anyone here," she said hugging him. "I just woke up because I wanted to."

"I just wanted some alone time again, but I don't know if it was the best idea," he admitted, nuzzling her neck and hugging her tighter. "No matter how much time passes I still cannot get used to waking up early, I swear."

"We can be alone at any other moment," she insisted. "Come on, go back to bed."

"No, I'll stay here. Let me sit down, though. I still need to finish waking up."

As he would not listen to her no matter what she said, she let him be and pecked his lips before he sat down and she continued dancing. The music was low to not bother the others who were sleeping, but it was still loud enough to properly hear it.

"Play any song you want," she said pointing to her phone. "I want to see what you will choose."

He then picked up her phone and tried to search for the perfect song for her but, of course, being as playful as he was, he decided to instead play something to make her laugh, that something being «Libido», the song he did with Jax, Joontae and other trainees for the WonderQ-28 project.

He was expecting Heejin to just laugh it off, but she danced along to it despite finding it funny. It was obvious she had not stopped to learn the steps, but she knew more than Axel thought she would, which made him question just how many times she had watched the choreography.

As he found it intriguing, he let the whole song play and, of course, he had to join her during the bridge and do his part. He was wearing a hoodie and not a backless blazer like he did during the stages, but Heejin did not mind that at all, and put her cold hand under his hoodie, making Axel shiver and curse at her while she just laughed. Everything remotely sexy about that performance was completely gone.

"If you hit me, I'll kill you," he warned her right before the part.

She was not as cruel as to do that, but still keeping the playfulness she hit his thigh instead and Axel rolled his eyes before actually kissing her during the next step, where he would just pretend to do so in the original choreography.

"How many times have you watched the dance performance video to know so much of the choreography?" Axel finally asked her once the song was done.

"I will make use of my right to not testify, your honor," Heejin told him and he just laughed.

"I'll take that as a way of saying many more than you are proud of." He picked up the phone again. "I'll play something more serious now. How about... this one?"

«LOCO» by ResQ started playing and Heejin's muscle memory immediately got to work as she took Alix's position (A/N: Yeji).

When people crowned 2021 as ResQ's year, they were not lying. They left JYP and started their own company, released many solo songs as well as a mini album together at the end of the year with «LOCO» as the title track, and wrote and choreographed songs for other artists such as TXT, Enhypen, Weekly and Aespa. They could not make songs for idols under JYP for obvious reasons, but that did not mean they stopped working for even a second and they proved no one had anything to worry about, as they not only made some of the catchiest songs of that year, but also some of the most iconic choreographies as everyone and their mother had learnt the steps for the chorus of their song «Loco» and Aespa's «Next Level» and «Savage», courtesy of Lee Soojin.
