After listening to the whole album, the girls went wherever they wanted to as they had nothing to do that day. Some went to the gaming room, others went back to their rooms and others, like Heejin, went to the greenhouse. It had quickly become her favourite spot, so she did not hesitate to go there as soon as she had time.
"You were right, Heejin. This place is amazing," Minako admitted. "It's so cosy!"
"Hikaru showed it to me once. Apparently, this is where the mentors have mostly been at during their spare time," Heejin explained.
"I'm glad he told you, then," Juiyu said, picking up the acoustic guitar right next to the piano, which was the one that ResQ had gifted Heejin and that she had taken to the greenhouse earlier that day. "I wish I could play more than just a few chords."
"If you want me to teach you, you know you just need to ask."
"I may actually accept your offer after the program. If I want to improve as a composer and lyricist, I think I should also improve my music skills."
Juiyu knew the basics of playing the guitar, but she had never been interested in it enough to learn further than the most basic chords. From the girls, only Eunae, Heejin and Iku knew more about music (Eunae with the bass -like her brother-, Iku with the piano, and Heejin with a little bit of everything and also including the violin, which she played as a child).
"Play something, Jinnie!" Juiyu told her. "I really want to hear you play!"
"But what should I play?" she asked. "Just tell me a song and I'll try to play it. I don't have perfect pitch, but I can quickly find it online."
"Why don't you play one of yours?" Minako asked. "I heard you playing one soon after we joined the program that you didn't do for any evaluation."
The song Minako was talking about was «Through The Night», the one she composed for Axel while staying and Jisung and Alix's house. She found oddly funny how so many songs she made were about him for one reason or another. It felt like he had invaded her mind and soul and there was no other thing of which she could think. Axel had been someone so important in her life that it felt natural to write about him. He still was important. Whether as a boyfriend or as a friend, Heejin still loved him.
"I'll try to play it," she gave in. "I made it at the end of last year and it's only stored as an untouched one-take improvisation demo, so I haven't even remotely polished it and it's not as good as it could be."
"Just play already! We all know that whenever you say that it's going to be good, so play already!"
"Okay, okay!"
Be it because of what Eunae told her earlier that day or because of the overall mood of the greenhouse, Heejin sung it right from the heart. Every word and every chord conveyed her feelings to perfection, touching the girls' hearts and making them tear up. Heejin was a true artist from head to toe, and it was things like that what showed it, not evaluations in front of a public. Sincere performances let people read her heart like an open book.
"Girls, quick!" Zia exclaimed, barging inside the greenhouse and interrupting the song. "They're here!"
"Who?" Minako asked.
"C1K!"
Heejin paralysed after hearing that. She was not ready to see Axel. He was not supposed to be there. It was supposed to be an off day without mentors or anyone else.
