Back at the venue, the girls went back to working on their evaluation. They had a week left until the live performances so, since they already had their tracks done, they focused on rehearsing the dances and preparing them. However, while rehearsing, they were told to also practice the group ones they made for the previous task, so they spent the mornings rehearsing those and going back to their subgroups in the afternoons.
Although they had fun working together, it was difficult to keep a high energy throughout the program and much more when, for the first time, they were risking a lot with their performance. Nothing would be decided until the very end, but the task would let them see which team had a higher chance of debuting. That, of course, took a toll on them. Although they would support each other regardless of the outcome, that did not mean that they did not desperately want to debut.
"Heejin," Juiyu called her as they were in the bus heading towards the venue where they would be performing. "What do you think will happen if we win and they don't?"
"What do you mean?" Heejin asked her confused.
"Well, I was thinking that you created the song for their team, so I was wondering how they would take it if we won and they didn't," Juiyu tried to explain. "I don't know how to say it. Like, if they win they will be happy about it and that's all, but if we do, I don't want them to blame it on you or your song."
"They wouldn't do that, don't worry. I asked them their thoughts about it and they said they liked it, so it would not make sense."
"When you are angry sense isn't something you take into account. I don't want to be that person, but should I remind you of what happened between Minako and you after coming?"
Of course she was right. There was not a single occasion in which she was not. Heejin always tried to see the good side in people, and that worked against her in times like that, as it would catch her by surprise and therefore affect her even more.
"But this task isn't the one determining the final line-up, so it shouldn't matter that much," Heejin lied to herself. "Right?"
"If they say something to you, I'll personally defend you." Juiyu punched the air pretending she was fighting someone. "My best friend already has enough to deal with, so I'll be like her bodyguard."
"What would I do without you...?" Heejin smiled and kissed her cheek.
"I have been blessed!" Juiyu held her cheek pretending to be shocked. "The Jang Heejin kissed me!"
"As if you didn't do that to me."
"Fair enough," Juiyu laughed and kissed Heejin's cheek. "Duyi should watch his back. Maybe I'll dump him for you."
It was not unusual for them to joke about things like that. They were so comfortable with each other and so close that they jokingly even saved each other in their contacts as 'wife'. It all started one day when Heejin told Juiyu she was wife material and, from then on, they stuck with it.
"Girls, we are almost by the venue, so start waking up the ones who are fast asleep still," one of the staff members told them, as they were sitting around the front of the bus. "Do you remember your schedules?"
"First the rehearsals, then lunch, after that hair and makeup, next another rehearsal and finally the live performances, was it not?" Heejin asked and the staff nodded.
Heejin then carefully stood up and started waking up the others, grabbing onto the back of the seats to not fall whenever the bus took a turn. Most of the girls were fast asleep, with Eunae as the only exception since she had been watching videos on her phone, so it took Heejin a while to at least make sure they had their eyes open and they would not be going back to sleep. Even the mentors, who had decided to go to the venue with them instead of using their own cars, were asleep, so she also tried to wake them up, although she was far more uncomfortable doing so.
