After waiting for a while to get all the public inside the venue and the cameras ready to film, the live recording of the program finally arrived and with it the nervousness. The picky team was the first one to go and they were all so nervous that they were visibly trembling. The unfamiliar stage and the considerably bigger audience did not help their nervousness at all, but they were determined to make the best performance they could, and that meant shaking it off as best as they could.
"Do your best out there. I have not heard your song before, but I know you will ace the performance," Heejin told the girls as they waited backstage for Lou to be done with the initial segment of the show, where he would introduce the task and everything to the audience, although the program talking about that had already been aired a couple of days before. "You are all incredibly talented, so don't have any doubts and go on stage with determination."
"Just by our outfits anyone can tell we are going for very different styles, so let's just have fun on stage and let fans vote for whatever they want," Zia joined. "Let's hope everything goes according to plan."
"I'm sure it will," Heejin assured her. "I think Lou is almost done, so go to your spots."
"Fighting!" They cheered before the first team left.
Since Stray Kids and C1K had left to watch the performances as part of the audience -although in a VIP area-, the backstage was emptier than before but they still all gathered around the screen to be able to watch the performances. The mentors were with them that time since they too would be performing, but that waiting room was bigger than the one at MusiQ so it did not feel crammed.
"Now that we all know what this evaluation is about, it's time for us to finally watch the performances. Are you ready?" Lou asked the public just as Heejin sat down between Hikaru and Minako on the couch. "Then, without further ado, let's welcome team «Picky Picky»!"
Just like every other time, the girls backstage watched the performance with full attention as they did not know what to expect and it technically was a competition between groups too and not just an individual one. The style they had gone for was vastly different from the one of the conflicted team, but they loved it regardless and it surprisingly made the girls shine despite their distinctive styles. It was cute-ish, a style that fit Lihua and Iku like a glove, yet also somewhat girl-crush, perfect for Juna and Zia, and with several rap parts, just what Juiyu needed. It represented the picky theme to perfection yet also their style as a team. It just could not have been better, and it had been created in only eight days.
"Now I get why you said they were so good," Heejin told Kasai. "Who even choreographed this? The song is amazing, sure, but I am more shocked about the choreography since they have composers but not choreographers in their team!"
