Once they reached Alix's house, Alix helped her carry her things up the stairs and inside the huge house. After passing the fence there was a garden-like area and a small flight of stairs leading to a patio with a seating area on the right side and wall-tall glass window surrounding the whole house. Most of the curtains were shut close, but the ones beside the door were not and you could see the entrance from there.
"Jisung, we are here!" Alix said as they went inside.
"I'm in the kitchen!" he said.
Alix then told Heejin to leave her baggage by the stairs and they both went to the kitchen, where Jisung was preparing dinner wearing an apron with «God's Menu» written on it. He was just preparing fried rice, but he had somehow made a mess in the kitchen.
"Did you fight with the food or something?" Alix asked him, shaking her head.
"I don't even know how it ended up like this, I swear," he said. "I haven't even prepared that much!"
"Do you need any help?" Heejin asked him.
"No, don't worry," he said and turned towards her. "Oh, my days! Does it hurt?"
"It looks worse than it feels," she admitted. "I will wash the dishes while you cook."
Heejin had already guessed Alix had told him everything, so she did not mind that he asked and replied as honestly as possible. It was true that her face still hurt, but it really looked a lot worse than it felt, as she did not really feel any pain unless she touched it.
"Heejin, leave that, it's okay," Alix told her but Heejin insisted on washing the dishes still. "I didn't tell you to stay here to wash the dishes."
"See it as me paying back for your hospitality," she said. "It is the least I can do."
"No, you should leave your things in your room instead. Come with me," Alix said. "Well, better, leave me with the dinner and, Jisung, you take her to her room."
"Hey! I can cook, you know? I've been learning!" Jisung protested, but Alix just pushed him aside trying not to laugh and started cooking instead.
After taking off his apron, they both went back to the entrance to pick up Heejin's things and headed upstairs to go to what would be her room. Heejin had been there a few times already, but she had never gone upstairs, so she did not know what to expect.
Her room was on the opposite side of the stairs, and she noticed that it had some boxes scattered around as well as a bed and a desk. It was not fully furnished, so she guessed they were in the middle of doing so and the things inside the boxes were the rest of the things that they would add there.
"This is going to be the baby's room," Jisung explained. "Mika was kind enough to lend us most of Hana's things, but we haven't started putting them in place yet since we have been painting the walls and getting the other things."
"I am basically occupying your child's room now," she pointed out and chuckled. "It is bigger than I was expecting, to be honest."
"It's the second biggest bedroom in the house, just after ours. That door over there leads to the en-suite bathroom, by the way."
"It even has a bathroom?!"
"And, as you can see it from here, you have a small terrace in case you want to get some fresh air in the middle of the night or something. Only this room has one, actually. I put a table with a couple of chairs there since I like working there at night sometimes."
"I swear your child will have a better room than most adults," Alix told him. "Thank you for letting me stay here, seriously. And, well, sorry too."
