54. MEMORIES

A/N: Happy New Year to all of you!

Although the solo projects did not begin on a good note for Heejin, she did not slack off and worked on all the songs right from the very next day. The composing trio had a lot more work than the others so, although you could see some of the girls roaming around the building, Zia, Eunae and specially Heejin spent entire days at the recording studio. 

As Heejin had to work on five songs in total, the only time she had to prepare her song was at night, so she even slept on the couch at the studio one day by taking naps in between sessions when she was just too exhausted to keep working. She really loved producing and did not mind doing it, but her body and her mind were not aligned, and she sometimes pushed herself to her limit.

"Knock, knock!" Hikaru said as he opened the door of the studio, where Heejin was fast asleep.

Even after he said that, she did not wake up. Nearly four days had passed, and she had only slept around three to four hours per day including the naps, so she had completely shut down. 

Smiling, Hikaru approached her and gently pushed her hair out of her face. Even before meeting her he had found her beautiful, but after getting to know her more it felt like she had become even more beautiful in his eyes. She had something that made it impossible for him to ignore her even when the room was full.

"You pout in your sleep," he muttered with a smile and tapped her lips gently as he chuckled. "You are too cute..."

Heejin stirred in her sleep, so Hikaru quickly stood up to not creep her out as she finally woke up.

"Oh, Hikaru!" Heejin said rubbing her eyes. "What time is it? How long was I out?"

"It's nine in the morning," he answered. "Why didn't you go to your room to sleep?"

"I was just going to take a short nap, but it seems like twenty minutes turned to five hours rather quickly." She stretched. "How come are you here? Are the mentors coming to help us or something?"

"Yes and no. Kasai and I had to come to help, but I came earlier because I wanted to check on you. I don't really know much about song writing, but I'll try my best. I saw Eunae before and she told me you were working on five songs on your own."

"Yes and no," she answered honestly. "Juna and Xia's are already done, and the only thing left for Lihua and Iku are recording theirs. For mine, however... I don't really have much."

"I get that you want to help others, but you should work hard on your song as well. This is a competition after all," Hikaru said as he sat down beside her. "I can tell you definitely want to have a strong comeback after the break you have all had, but don't pressure yourself too much and just release something you want to."

"It's just... I want to make a song that stands out, but I don't want to make something too different from the others because people would think I did not try hard enough for them when that's not the case," she confessed. "I haven't left this place other than to shower and pick up some food, so I don't even know what the other girls are doing."

"Why don't we start by changing that? It's not healthy for you to be trapped in here." He stood up and held his hand out. "Let's go?"

"But I need to work..."

"You can work later. I promise you will have time." He grabbed her hand and pulled her up. "Come on. You need some fresh air."

She had just woken up and was too tired to try to fight him, so she just let him drag her around the building until they reached the only part of the whole building area that Heejin had never gone to: the corner right between the dorm building and the trainee's den.
