82. BUSKING

Their second-to-last day in Busan arrived and with it the day of the performances. Both Cosmos and Breakthrough had been working hard on different songs for their programs and they would be performing them that day, although they did not know exactly where. They had just been told to get ready to perform and were handed some clothes, so they put on the outfits that belonged to their main cover and went to the main room downstairs with the other ones on their bags to see what would happen.

Eventually, the few staff members left there told them to hop onto the bus so they could leave, and they headed off to none other than the Songsanghyeon Public Square, walking after that to the Busan Start-Up cafe where staff members were working on setting up a stage.

"Oh, hello!" Soojin smiled at them. "Are you ready to perform?"

"Will we be performing here?" Lihua asked.

"Right here!" Soojin said pointing to the stage. "Welcome or welcome back to the world of Busking! Well, it's not exactly busking since there is a stage, but since we are technically in the middle of the street and anyone can stop to watch, let's pretend it is."

They could not believe what they had heard at that moment. They obviously knew what it was and some of them had even done it in the past, but the last thing they were expecting was to perform in the middle of the street and with two Enhypen members, especially since everyone knew them and it would be impossible for people not to stop to look.

"We chose this place because it's secluded enough to not disturb that much, people can watch from in front of the stage, the stairs or up there leaning on the fence, and we are also helping out the Cafe by attracting more people here," Soojin explained. "Are you ready to perform? There will be no warm-ups or anything. Just all of you performing your team songs from the last task to try to get more people to come and then the performances."

They had not been warned about that, so they suddenly started feeling even more nervous. They thought they were just going to be performing in front of the cameras and the other trainees, so suddenly seeing that they would do it in front of people who maybe did not even know them made them panic.

"Play rock-paper-scissors to see who goes first," Soojin told them. 

Still nervous, the Xia and Heejin as the leaders of their teams played against each other and Xia won, meaning Onyx would be performing first. Once things started rolling it did not matter who performed but being the first meant that you had to be the one making people approach you. The first performance had to be jaw-dropping.

"Axel!" Soojin called him over, since he was talking to Sunghoon, Jake and other staff members.

"Yes?" he said once he was beside them.

"Onyx will be performing first, so help them prepare and get ready, please. Tell the crew to prepare the instrumental for «Odd Eye»," Soojin told him. 

"I'm on it. Come on, girls. Follow me."

They all followed Axel behind the stage, where they had put up a sort of tent that would serve as their changing rooms. They had put on their performance outfits for «Blessed-Cursed» thinking they would be performing that, but seeing as they had to perform «Odd Eye» instead the outfits did not match the song so they needed to change.

"Use the outfits for «Go Big Or Go Home». They are not the best, but they suit the vibe more," Axel told them. "I'll go tell the staff in the meantime. Be right back!"

Axel was on top of everything despite technically not even being meant to be there. He just went to Busan to talk to Heejin, but he was helping them in more than one way and they were all immensely grateful for it.
