Kix groaned as he tried to sit up from his bunk. with his eyes still closed he automatically reached out to feel for his bag, but instead, he was met with empty air.

He wearily blinked his eyes thinking that once again Fives or Echo had moved his bag, but instead, he found himself looking at the walls of an infirmary. 

"Kix?" said a strangely familiar but groggy voice next to him, his head snapped around painfully almost giving himself whiplash as he looked at the very person he so desperately wanted to see when he opened his eyes. 

Lil. 

Her eyes were full of joy when he looked upon them before his face fell at the sight of her heavily bandaged torso. 

He jumped out of his own bed before barely making it five feet to hers, his legs and sides burning with pain as he barely made it to her bed. 

"KIX!!" she half yelled half-whispered as he smiled up at her trying to rid his body of the dull throbbing pain that was coursing through him. 

"Hey it's ok I'm right here" he half-joked as his free hand found hers, he looked down realizing he was only in his bottom part of the blackie suit as a large bandage covered most of this midriff. 

Kix managed to pull himself into a seated position on the edge of her bed with a little help from Lil before being enveloped into a hug. Lil's arms circled around his chest as her face rested just a little left of his frantically beating heart. Kix froze for a moment before returning her hug, his nose immediately being filled with her soft sent as he kissed the top of her head gently. 

it wasn't until he heard slight sniffling and felt water on his chest did he realize that she was crying, he pulled away slightly not wanting to be any farther away from her than he had to. her eyes were full of tears as he looked on her face his own fears of hurting her steadily growing. 

"are you ok?" he asked gently as he automatically moved his hands to check her bandages were too tight or in need of changing. 

He was so preoccupied with her well-being he didn't see her hand unwind itself from around him before smacking him on his shoulder. 

He flinched slightly, more out of shock than out of pain before looking slightly confused. Lil sniffled again before he grabbed her hand gently and pulled her back into his arms. 

"you jerk" she muttered under her breath making Kix chuckle as he gently kissed her forehead, "how do you feel Cyare?" he asked again. 

"I'm fine" she huffed as he carefully stroked her shoulders. 

"oh, will you too get a room already" Fives shouted making Lil flinch and Kix pull her closer to him. 

Kix glaired at Fives who shrugged before smiling, "good to see you are up Vod". 

"Get out" Kix grumbled as he returned to rubbing Lil's back. 

"Sorry mate, but I'm following your orders" Fives replied smugly making Kix look at him confused. 

"What orders?" Kix asked. 

Fives grinned before he spoke, "No baby-making in the Med bay". Kix glaired at him before grabbing the nearest thing, which was a tray of food, and throwing it at Fives. Fives laughed before avoiding the tray and food then disappeared from sight. 

Lil on the other hand was blushing madly, "so you broke your own rules on that planet?" she half-whispered not daring to look up at him. 

Kix himself began to blush madly before he kissed her temple gently "I was a little busy trying not to go insane from a particular patient at the time" he whispered causing her to giggle slightly. 

"my parents will be here soon Kix" Lil reminded him as he breathed in her scent, he smiled happily before pulling away slightly wrapping her in a warmish blanket. Lil blushed more before resting against him his hands still rubbing circles into her back gently. 

they didn't say anything else until a rather worried and disheveled Obiwan and Satine finally arrived. 

Lil noted that her mother's clothes that were once clean and never out of place were now dirty and torn in certain places. The same was true for her father's appearance but other than the sizable chunk of his beard missing, almost as though he had tried to shave with his saber. 

"LIL!!!" Satine yelled before rushing forward to hug her daughter. Kix reluctantly let Lil go before meeting the generals' gaze, it was a mix of a scolding and a silent thank you. Kix smiled at the general nervously before he spoke "uh...hello sir". 

"Good to see you are up Kix, we need you on the bridge in ten" Obi-wan said before turning around and leaving the med bay. 

Satine grimaced at her husband's coldness towards Kix "don't worry, he will warm up eventually" she said as Kix sighed. 

Lil smiled before kissing his cheek "go get 'em, soldier". 

Kix blushed before returning the kiss and getting up gingerly "yes ma'am" he muttered his eyes never leaving Lil's before he managed to scramble his armor on and rushed out of the med bay. 

Kix panted slightly as he rushed down the hallways of the rather strange-looking ship, he managed to finally find the bridge after asking a couple of civilians who were walking in what looked to be a variety of uniforms. 

the moment he entered the bridge he was met with the sight of General Kenobi, General Ti, General Yoda, and a handful of senators that looked as disheveled as the Jedi. 

"Kix, good you finally made it," Kenobi said his voice slightly playful as he glaired at Kix "just in time to meet everyone". 

"Sir?" asked Kix slightly confused.

"Welcome to the new order of the Republic and Jedi," General Shaak Ti said her voice as calm as ever as Kix's Jaw dropped.
