Leaving for War

Ahsoka had managed to calm down the terrified younglings enough and when they caught sight of the clones most had calmed down, though many were still quite shaken. 

All of course except for three half Togrutan children who ran to their uncles giggling and laughing. 

Fives, Heavy, and Echo laughed as they bent down to hug their nephews and niece before lifting them in the air. Rex smiled before he caught sight of a couple of Younglings edged closer to the clones. 

"it's ok, they won't hurt you," Ahsoka said as her mother came behind her and smiled warmly at the clones "it's ok children, ". 

One brave young Wookie finally took a couple of steps forward his hand still holding his saber warily ready to defend himself if he had to. 

Fives smiled at the young Wookie as Aniko and Lithara held out their hands to the Wookie, one of their more constant play friends. 

"Gunge" Lithara giggled making the Wookie, Gungi, take her hand gently. He turned to many of the other Younglings and smiled before speaking in his Wookie tongue. Rex was slightly confused at what the Wookie youngling said, but it soon became clearer to him when a couple more curious younglings walked up to Echo and Heavy.

Ahsoka smiled at Rex before he made his way over to his wife before pulling her into his arms, Shaak Ti smiled at the now growing crowd of younglings that surrounded the clones. Fives laughed before Heavy turned to Rex "assistance requested, I'm surrounded". Rex laughed before shaking his head, then an idea popped into his head. 

"Hey, Ahsoka, how do you think the younglings would like to create a crest for the 501st to wear so they know they are friendly," Rex asked his voice raised just enough to grab the younglings' attention.....and the clones.

Heavy looked terrified at the idea before Fives and Echo piped in "great idea", the younglings all seemed to be jumping in happiness before Shaak Ti had to step in to quiet them down, "ok kids calm down everyone, we still need to finish dinner before we get to designing anything". 

The Younglings dragged the three clones inside the large hut before Rex and Ahsoka followed the large group, Rex picking up Tiberius before walking into the hut with his wife's hand in his free one. 

Ahsoka giggled as two younglings climbed on top of Echo trying to ride him like a spacecraft. "you do realize they came to get us" Ahsoka whispered as her son cuddled into Rex's robes, Rex nodded before holding his son closer and eyeing Aniko and Lithara who were clutching Fives legs and standing on his feet making it hard for him to walk. 

"I know.......I just don't want to go yet," Rex whispered as Ahsoka gently rubbed some dirt off Tiberius's cheek. "neither do I," she whispered as Rex gently caressed her cheek, rubbing away a small tear that had fallen from her eyes. 

"Mommy...." Tiberius mumbled his hand's reaching out for Ahsoka even though his body was slowly falling asleep. Ahsoka smiled at Rex who rolled his eyes "he's a bit of a momma's boy isn't he" Rex whispered before gently handing Ahsoka a sleepy Tiberius before he kissed the top of Ahsoka's head gently. 

"We should probably go pack soon" Rex whispered to his wife as he held both his eldest son and wife in his arms, Ahsoka nodded quietly before Tiberius whimpered "mommy stay, daddy stay". Rex kissed his son's forehead before he spoke "ill go get ready......". 

Ahsoka nodded before Rex left to pack, her eyes landing on a teary-eyed Tiberius. "mommy stays" he said angrily his nose crunching adorably into a half snarl making Ahsoka giggle "I know you want us to stay honey, but mommy and daddy have to go back to work.". 

"No!" Tiberius said again. 

Ahsoka sighed at her son's stubborn streak "You get that from your father young man, not me". 

Tiberius huffed before Ahsoka smiled again kissing her son's temple, "we won't be gone long honey, your grandma will be here to play with you, and you have your friends". 

Tiberius shook his head before grabbing onto Ahsoka's leku tightly, "mommy stay" he whispered his eyes tearing up slightly. Ahsoka cuddled her son closer to herself as she spotted Rex walking up to the group with both of their bags packed, He smiled at her before kissing her cheek gently and putting the bags down. 

"Hey buddy," Rex said as he tried to pry Tiberius off of Ahsoka but he wouldn't budge "cant I get a hug?" Rex asked slightly hurt. Tiberius whimpered before crawling out of his mothers arms and into his fathers who hugged him tightly. 

"daddy stay too?" Tiberius muttered before Rex smiled brightly and pulled away a little so he could look at his eldest son. "daddy cant stay, and mommy cant stay either. But I have a job for you to do while we are away" Rex whispered as Ahsoka went to pick up Aniko and Lithara who where trying to float Fives in the air again. 

"your the eldest of all your siblings.....do you know what that means?" Rex asked as Tiberius rubbed his eyes trying to stay awake as he shook his head no. Rex smiled before rubbing his son's small leku that had a bacta patch on it from where his sister had bit him before Rex continued "it means you are older than your brother and sister, and when I'm not here its your job to make sure they are safe". 

Tiberus looked at Rex confused at first but then realization dawned on him slowly "like daddy protect mommy?" he whispered playing with his leku, a trait he had picked up from his mother.

Rex smiled and kissed his son's small bump that would soon grow to become his montales before he nodded chuckling slightly "yes sorta like how daddy protects mommy, do you think you can do that? can you be brave for your siblings?". Tiberius nodded before laying his head against his fathers shoulder making Rex smile at his practically passed out son, Ahsoka soon reappeared with his sleeping children smiling brightly. 

"I know we are supposed to leave soon but can we at least put them down for their nap?" Ahsoka asked, her voice pleading with him as he wrapped his free arm around her waist as she leaned into his side a little to bring Aniko and Lithara closer to him. 

"ok.....I might regret it later but ok" Rex whispered his head resting against against Ahsoka's forehead. "think they will be mad at us" Ahsoka whispered as they walked quietly to their family hut, Rex smiled before kissing her left montale mumbling slightly "I think they might be more mad if I grabbed acouple of their drawings to take with us......". Ahsoka giggled before Rex pulled the hut curtain door open for her "what, how else am I supposed to stay saine? nothing against you my Cyare but they are our family". 

Ahsoka smiled at him as she laid Lithara next to Aniko, "I agree....i guess this is why the Jedi counsil didn't alow Jedi to have children for so long". Rex laid Tiberius down next to Lithara and watched as his elsdest son cuddled into his siblings as Ahsoka laied the blanket over her children, tucking them in gently before giving them each a kiss on the forehead. Rex waited until Ahsoka finished kissing their foreheads before he kissed their foreheads next, when he pulled away he smiled happily at his children. 

"Rex, Ahsoka!!!" Fives said in a hushed tone as some giggling could be heard from outside. "come on guys your supposed to be my guide in this thick as h-owww" five's voice was followed by more giggling as Ahsoka looked at Rex who sighed heavily. 

"come on lets go help him before he falls off a cliff" Rex sighed giving one last glance to his children before manovering Ahsoka out the hut.
