Respect

Cody glared at the forms of his men as they walked through a particularly dense forest, he had decided it was best if Barris stayed with him while Volt separated the group slightly as they advanced on the headquarters of the Separatists. 

"Are you sure it's this planet?"  Volt whispered shifting uncomfortably "not trying to be rude but we have been wrong before about this sir". 

Cody nodded "dead sure, it-"

"It's right ahead.......I can........I can feel it" Barris cut Cody off her eyes closed as if she was trying to reach out with her mind to narrow down the location of the base. 

"But........there's something off about it" Barris continued for a second or two before her eyes snapped open. 

"come on men let's go kick some tinny" yelled one of the clones as he started to run forward. 

"No, wait!!!" Barris called after him her hand stretched out ready to pull him back with the force. the clone in question looked up just in time to see a large cannon aim right at him seconds before it fired.  

Barris yanked the clone and the rest of the clones back to where she was as the force in her body screamed at her as she did, her eyes soon caught sight of the cannon repositioning on its own with spindle-like legs moving to get a better shot at killing them all. 

"GET TO COVER NOW!!!!" Barris ordered just as it fired hitting her square in the chest

 Cody watched in horror as when she did her whole body buckled, the clones next to him ran for cover as he stood frozen his own chest throbbing painfully. 

He watched as his own body moved forward to gather her up in his arms before retreating, it almost didn't seem real to him, like he was riding shotgun as someone else took over his won body. 

"Sir are you Crazy!!!!!" Zaps yelled at the top of his lungs as his brothers gave him cover fire. 

Cody ignored him as he felt a small but distinctive thumping coming from her chest that was pressed against his "She is still alive!! This must have been a trap" he yelled as he pulled out his own gun and fired at the strange cannon droid that seemed to be just sitting there taking all the fire. 

"We won't be if you don't drop her" Zaps argued before being silenced with possibly one of the most terrifying looks Cody had given anyone. 

"Listen, man, I get you are attached to the skirt but you need to put your feelings aside and leave her behind, she is a traitor and is probably gonna die anyway" Dent yelled as he narrowly avoided the cannon droids next shot hitting the rock wall behind the four clones cracking it.

Cody shook his head and yelled back "WE LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND!!!!", his temper getting the better of him again before Volt tapped him on the shoulder. Cody understood the wordles expression on Volt's face Cody gently placed Barris in Volt's arms, Volt nodded to him before backing up far enough away so that she would not be put in further harm from whatever they did next. 

Cody gave the four clones a lasting glare before returning his attention to taking down the cannon droid. It was massive and looked to be armored as well.........no it was more than that it seemed to be absorbing the shots. 

"cease fire" Cody yelled. 

"NO WAY" Gasher yelled as all four of the clones continued their fire, Cody spotted the droid revving up for its next shot "THAT'S AN ORDER!!!" Cody yelled his eyes never leaving the droid just as it fired its next shot. 

there was a loud whizzing sound as it passed them and hit the cliff behind them, Cody was already running to push at least one of his brothers out of the way of the falling rocks when he was held back by familiar arms. 

Volt was trying to drag Cody back from the rockfall. 

Cody instead watched as four of his brothers where killed in the rock slide, all four letting out screams of pain that seemed to eco in the distance. 

Volt dragged Cody to out of sight of the droids scanners only a couple of seconds before the rocks stopped falling. They held their breath as the droids spindly legs loomed ever closer, occasionally making a couple small pebbles fall from wheres its legs had found a foothold. 

Minutes tickets by, though to the two clones it felts like hours. 

Then they heard the sounds of the droid crawling back to its original position before a loud click sounded. 

Volt was the first to check, there he saw the droid as it scanned the area, he slowly let go of Cody before creeping past him down to a little crevace like passage in the cliff side that was just big enough for them to slide through. 

The sliding though turned out to be much harder than Cody had thought as his armor caught multiple times on the rocks around him, he scilently cursed under his breath ever time this happened until a minute later he saw the passage open into a large cavern like layout with the only light filtering in through a some what man size hole in the far right of the cavern. 

But his eyes searched through the dark looking for a familiar form. He spotted her less that six feet away from him on a piece of rock that was slightly more raised up than it's surounding elements. "She's out cold, got some scratches on her from being dragged through that" he pointed to the passageway they had just come through before they both heard a loud click from above them.

Cody and Volt looked at each other before Cody slowly crept to the whole in the roof before peering out already guessing where they where.

Volt on the other hand shook his head with his hand to his helmet as he spoke in a hushed tone "we are right underneath the droid arnt we?".

Cody nodded slowly before making his way back to both Barris and Volt. "So.........I have a plan......" Cody whispered in a hushed tone.

"Oh this ought to be good" Volt responded in a hushed tone his hand on his helmet.
