Darker Depth

Padme shook silently as she cradled her screaming children against her chest. Her eyes darted wildly around the cramped living area before she heard a slight pop outside the door making her jump instinctively.

Vader who was fast asleep on the bed jumped as well, his saber activating in his hand the moment he did.

"Stay here" Vader whispered to Padme who shrunk slightly behind him as he pushed her farther into the shadows on the bed.

Now the children were silent, their bodies still shaking almost as if they knew something dark was behind that door.

Vader glanced at Padme in the shadows before he pulled the door open.

Gorr smiled brightly at Vader before he walked in, without permission, and began to speak to the shadows. Totally ignored the extremely annoyed Vader.

"Ms. Amadala, lord Sidious has asked me to take you in for examination"

"No" Vader spoke harshly and coldly still staring at the sith in front of him.

"And he is dying to send you out on another mission" Gorr replied as he glanced at Vader before fixating on Padme again.

"Well that is truly interesting," said a new voice from the doorway.

Vader and Gorr spun slightly on their heels to catch sight of the newcomer, Vader looked slightly relaxed while Good looked far more agitated than before.

"Dooku" Gorr growled his sharp teeth showing as he spoke.

"Gorr, ever-lovely to see you, but Maser Sidious has ordered the both of you to report for your new mission, I have been given the task of not only ensuring our new members are healthy but moving the Vader family to better ...... accommodations," Dooku said in such a calm manner it slightly impressed Padme at how he was able to both calm the situation and annoy both men at the same time.

Gorr was the first to break, and after giving a glance towards the shadows, he left the slightly cramped room, grumbling under his breath as he did.

Vader breathed slightly more before he felt Padme's hand on his upper arm, gently but effectively calming him down. 

His gaze slowly moved to her before falling to the two wide-eyed children in her arms, his face softened and his eyes flickered again causing Padme to smile brightly at him. 

Vader soon turned back to Dooku, his eyes returning to bright yellow before he spoke again. "if a hair is put out of place-"

"yes yes, you will end my existence in a very gruesome way I am sure" Dooku finished while dismissively waving his hand.

Vader glanced at Padme one more time before he finally departed, leaving Padme and Dooku alone. 

"Come along, your children need to be examined," Dooku said in such a loud manner that Padme seriously doubted if that was where they were going. 

In fact, she was quite correct, Dooku ended up guiding her towards a set of corridors that looked more rich and far more expensive looking than where she and her family were staying before. 

"What is this place?" Padme asked as Dooku ushered her into a doorway motioning her to be silent as he did. 

Padme looked slightly confused but the moment that Dooku had followed her into the room and shut the door he let out a slight breath before he finally spoke. 

"Now that I am sure we are not being listened to....we are in deep trouble" Dooku hissed out wildly as he looked from Padme and then back to the door. 

Padme who had been looking around the now well-lit room. the room itself was almost the same type of size that she had when she was the Naboo queen, with lush carpets and chairs that were against freshly painted walls sporting beautiful metal artworks from around the galaxy. there was also a luxurious kitchen peeping out from an archway and almost across the room from the archway where two doors that Padme could only predict let to the bedrooms for her children and herself. 

When Padme was pulled out of the slight daze by a very worried Dooku she understood immediately what he meant. 

"Where are we?"

"your new quarters, Lord Sidious is trying to curry your favor I suspect," Dooku replied hurriedly.

Padme shook her head before she gave a disgusted glance towards the room as if it itself had verbally insulted her. 

"What is the mission that Anakin has been sent on?" Padme demanded as she turned around placing her children on the soft and plush couch that rested under a rather creepy tapestry of the sith order.  

Padme suppressed the slight shudder at the tapestry before she checked over her children.

Dooku on the other hand stayed standing as he began to explain "the sith lord is sending your husband to collect something, what I have no idea. the sith lord has begun to shut me out of most of his battleplans"

Padme nodded as she fussed over her children, both of which were much calmer now. 

"We have a very limited amount of time before the new republic is cornered, and we have to figure out how to cripple the sith" Padme commented before continuing "we need someone who is strong with the force and is loyal to the republic". 

"We still have Obiwans child under experimentation, if we manage to free her we could get her to help us with our plans" Dooku commented as he began to stroke his beard in such a familiar fashion that Padme chuckled slightly before his words sunk in

"what do you mean your experimenting on that poor girl!!!" Padme hissed in such anger that it made Dooku take a couple of steps back. 

"not my decision," Dooku said quickly afraid of her wrath "but I could not think up a plan that would enable us to free her as well as keeping my betrayal a secret" 

Padme rolled her eyes at his selfishness before letting out a slight sigh of annoyance. 

"well now we both can come up with a plan now cant we, who is in charge of the experimentation anyway?" she asked curiously. 

Dooku smiled slightly before his reply, straightening his shirt as he did "Lord Gorr". 

Padme smiled slightly as an idea popped into her head. 

"well then...I think its about time he gets a taste of his own medicine"
