Hell

Cody's eyes darted to the pilots chair for what must have been the hundredth time now, he could feel the slight anger radiating off of Barris as she controlled the ship. 

Cody made a mental note never ever to try and keep anything from her ever again. 

"what do you mean I've lost my eye, it feels fine there is nothing wrong with it" Barris half screamed terrified making Aayla jump slightly before trying to comfort her. 

"Hey, it's ok, calm down ok, least you don't have that monster in your head anymore," Aayla said as Barris slowly fell to pieces. Cody could feel the waves of fear and pain run through him, he felt sick to his stomach at the moment he felt it. 

Cody's body seemed to act on its own accord, he was already moving forward to hug her when he was held back by Bly, Cody glared at him. Ready to forcibly remove Blys arm from its socket if he had to, Bly shook his head before pointing to the door. 

Cody's eyes landed on four sour-looking Jedi, all old and Cody could swear they had not bathed in quite some time. One looked somewhat human if not for the horns sticking out of her scalp, the one next to her was hidden by his hood but Cody could swear the foul smell was coming from him. 

The last two were human, one man and one woman both had grey wispy hair and frowns permanently etching into their face. 

"padawan learner Barris Offee?" asked the one under the hood, the voice was raspy and hoarse but unmistakably male. 

Barris gulped her eyes never leaving the four elderly Jedi. 

"Y-yes" Barris answered her voice cracking slightly. 

"you are under arrest," said the elderly Jedi. 

"NO!!!" yelled Bly, Cody, and Aayla all at once. 

Cody's heart threatened to jump out of his chest to what they said next "do not get in our way" replied the elderly Male Jedi. 

"leave them, you must," said a familiar voice that made Cody relax slightly. 

"This one is a Sith," said the hooded figure pointing a rather decrepit and scaly claw at Barris. Bly had to hold Cody back a little more forcefully before Yoda spoke again "under his control, she was. Her mind more powerful, it was yes? lose her, we cannot". 

Barris looked slightly less terrified but the next words were something that both terrified Cody and silently thank Yoda. 

"Watched over, she will be. Obi-wan Kenobi, under the watchful eye she will be" Yoda said confidently. 

"The young Kenobi let his own apprentice assstray, we cannot let him dissstort another into the sssith" said the cloaked figure his s's becoming more and more prominent. 

"Skywalkers energy still is, not with the sith, bordered it appears" master Yoda said, the four Jedi seemed to glair at Yoda and Barris. 

"one step out of line, and we will terminate her," said the woman with horns. 

Bly was silently thankful that he had nabbed Cody's blasters when they entered the med bay with the tone that Jedi had Bly was sure Cody would have shot all four of them just for the idea of hurting Barris. 

"understood, it is. protected she will be, from the Darkside" Yoda's voice was determined as well as slightly threatening towards the four. 

The four Jedi scoffed before leaving, Yoda on the other hand stayed behind and waited before he was sure they were out of earshot before turning to Cody.

"under your care, she is. tempted others, will be. prove to them, you must." Yoda's tone was his usual cryptic one but Cody understood what he meant. protect her or die trying. 

Cody shook his head trying to get out of the memory of the encounter with master Yoda. choosing instead to focus on the slightly trembling Jedi next to him. 

"hey are you ok Cyare?" his voice was soft as he addressed her. 

Barris glaired at him for a second "as you can see I'm totally fine, can we just drop these backstabbing soldiers" 

Cody winced at the word 'see'. he glanced back at the locked door leading to the jailed inmates they were hauling to the new base on a planet close to Kamino. 

He got out of his chair and quickly put on the ship's autopilot before turning her chair to face him. Barris's cool blue eyes met his firey Brown ones as they stared at each other, Cody could see the fear in her eyes though from what he still did not know. 

His hand automatically cupped her cheek gently before he went to his knees, "Talk to me" he quietly begged her, Barris blushed before a single tear fell from her good eye. Cody gently wiped the tear away as he smiled at her "there is nothing you can say to scare me off, I've literally been inside of your head". 

Barris smiled before hugging him tightly, Cody was shocked for a moment before hugging her back his arms gently picking her up from the chair and into his own embrace. she was curled up into his chest her hands wrapped firmly around his shoulders, Cody rested his head on her shoulder as she trembled slightly. 

He whispered soft words to her as she gripped the front plate of his armor, it wasn't until her tears turned into small hiccups that he finally managed to get any sense from her. 

"i-im s-sor-ry, i-i d-do-ont k-kn-now" her sentence was full of hiccups as she tried to talk Cody simply pushed the stray hairs out of her face, "breath, nice and even. Your safe here, and i promise if that bastard ever comes near you again I'm going to fill him with holes, so will the 212th. your their commander now remember" Cody said calmly. 

Barris shook her head "b-but t-that m-mean-ns yo-our n-not th-he c-com-mand-der..." Barris had to take deep breaths as her hiccups got worse. 

Cody smiled before rubbing her back gently, he straightened up with her still in his arms before sitting in his previous seat "I don't mind being under you........." his face went red as he realizes what he had just said, "I mean under your command.....taking orders.........you know what I mean". 

Barris half giggled half hiccuped at him fumbling over his words. Cody smiled before kissing her forehead instinctively "see you're getting better already, laughter is always the best medicine.". 

Cody kissed her forehead again before he felt her hand on his cheek, soft and delicate but so very strong as she rubbed the stubble on his chin gently. 

"Close your eyes Cyare, Rest, the prisoners are not going anywhere. Besides, you got a big strong clone watching over you while you sleep" Cody said making her laugh again. 

Cody smirked at his new favorite thing in the world, her laugh. Which was very intoxicating and very uplifting. 

After a while, she finally drifted off to sleep in his arms. Cody enjoyed watching her sleep, and unlike all the other times she slept, he could tell no nightmares plagued her mind. 

Cody yawned slightly before being thrown free from the chair, he landed so Barris was protected from the impact of the metal floor. Her eyes snapped open before looking up at Cody whose attention was fixed on the instruments on the panels. 

"Shit" Cody muttered as he looked at the ship of a very familiar blue bounty hunter who was firing at the ship.
