Crystal Caves

Rex huffed slightly annoyed that he had to wait in the ship with Wolfe as Plo and Ahsoka were in the Kyber Crystal Caves. 

And they had been there for hours.

During the time they had been waiting Rex had found a small ball that must have belonged to a youngling and had been left behind in the chaos of order 66, the moment he found it he started throwing it against the wall. 

Which was beginning to annoy Wolfe. 

"WILL YOU STOP IT!!!!" Wolfe yelled making Rex snicker at his brother. 

"You're worse than Cody was before Barris" Rex muttered as he began to throw the ball into the air. 

Wolfe glaired at him "No I'm not.........shut up".

Rex laughed at his vod before throwing the ball up in the air again. 

"How the hell did you marry Ahsoka when you act like such a child?" Wolfe said shaking his head. 

Rex laughed again "I have no idea, but I am happy she is because a day without her is sheer hell". He looked up at the ceiling thinking about his wife as Wolfe rolled his eyes and returned to the datapad in his hand. 

"you know Cody and Baris went AWOL right?"

"no......I had no idea......then again all the crap they had been through they deserve a nice honeymo- I mean vacation" Rex replied smiling again.

Wolfe glared at him more than a little angry "you knew they were going to go AWOL? Wait!!! They are getting married?". 

Rex shrugged at him "Donno............guess it depends on if Cody has the nerve to ask"

"Then why did you say that?" 

"Dude those two are probably locked in their room ri-"

"Don't finish that sentence Vod......" 

"Oh come on like you haven't......wait.....you haven't had a girlfriend or even met a girl have you?"

"I'm not answering that, I don't want to be set up on a date with a force wielder I have enough problems cleaning up after Plo now I have to deal with Ahsoka and you trying to add to my crew" Wolfe growled out the last part angrily at the memory of almost walking in on them.

Rex glared at him before throwing the ball at his datapad. 

"Hey, I was reading that!!" Wolf yelled. 

"you need to get off that thing man, and they almost died.....ok I've lost count of how many times but the point is still there. They need a break Vod" Rex said as he used the force to summon the ball back to him.

Wolfe huffed pissed off at his brother for being both rights and going back to playing with the ball. 

"At least I'm not dressed like a girly Jedi" Wolfe muttered. 

Rex glared at him before they heard a sound coming from outside. 

He jumped to his feet seconds before he saw an exhausted and half-frozen Ahsoka as she scrambled first into the ship then into his waiting arms. 

"s-so c-coo-old" she muttered trying to warm up against Rex. 

Rex glanced at Plo and noted the slight ice build-up on his mask before returning to Ahsoka kissing her freezing montales. "hey you get what you needed Cyare?" Rex whispered as Plo closed the door to the ship. 

Ahsoka nodded before untieing his outer robe and cuddled into Rex's chest as he used the outer robe to wrap around her. 

Rex gently rubbed her exposed skin as she shivered, Ahsoka purred quietly before Rex kissed her gently then pulling her into a carry before sitting down in one of the seats. 

"warm...." Ahsoka muttered once Rex tucked her head into his neck gently, he had to admit it had to be his favorite way to travel with his wife. 

Though he could have lived without the disapproving glares from Wolfe. 

He rubbed her legs gently before he caught sight of Ahsoka's hand, when he looked over at it he saw not one but two Kyber Crystals glowing softly. Rex smiled before kissing her nose gently "That's my girl" he half growled half whispered making Ahsoka giggle. 

"Don't make me separate you two" Plo growled as he accepted a warm cup of caf and a blanket. 

Rex grumbled slightly before kissing Ahsokas temple keeping her close to his body. 

Ahsoka purred again as he went back to rubbing her legs and arms. His hands trying their best to bring her temperature back up, he had often seen Kix doing this when she was put in subzero conditions. Though during those times he wanted to pummel Kix to the ground as he felt a strange feeling from his stomach roar to life. It wasn't until later with Kix's help that he realized it was jealousy that had risen at the sight of another man's hands on Ahsoka. 

Rex kissed her temple again as Plo pulled another blanket out of the storage for Ahsoka, "She may be half Togrutan but she is still susceptible to the cold. It's not as bad as when she was a youngling but those caves were no picnic".

Rex took the blanket before wrapping her up in the thick blanket, worry etched into his face. Ahsoka looked up at Rex happily before cupping his cheek gently making his face explode into a smile, Wolfe could see the look of joy on Rex's face out of the corner of his eye. 

He had to admit his brother looked happy. 

When Wolfe looked back to the monitors he had to take a double take as a large separatist ship was entering the atmosphere of the planet. 

"Uhhhhh Sir.... we have an issue" Wolfe's voice was full of worry as he tried to get Plo's attention. 

Plo managed to pull himself away from Ahsoka's side for a moment to glance at the monitors. 

"Start the ship we have to get out of here" Plo ordered. 

"What about the cavern?" Rex asked confused. 

Plo and Ahsoka exchanged glances before Plo spoke again "I'm sorry little un, but we have to".

Ahsoka buried her head into Rex's chest unable to look at what would happen next. 

"Wolfe, start the ship and fire at the cavern" Plo ordered. 

Both Wolfe and Rex exchanged glanced at each other before Plo explained "If those Crystals fall into the Sith hands we will be fighting an army of Sith.........We can't go to war like that again". 

Wolfe nodded starting up the ship maneuvering it in place as Rex fumbled to find a solution. 

"There has to be another way that we can do this?" Rex asked Ahsoka. 

Ahsoka shook her head pulling herself closer to him just as he felt the familiar shudder as the weapons on the ship warmed up to fire.

Then he felt it.

Two well-placed shots were all that it took to cause the Cave entrance to collapse. 

Two more shots were fired for good measure making it impossible for anyone to enter it again.
