Rex watched his wife play with their children in the morning dew, their original job was to pick vegetables for their breakfast, now they were throwing mud at each other as they ran around the garden.

"They needed this," Said a familiar voice behind him.

Rex turned around catching sight of his mother-in-law with a bucket of water.

Shaak-Ti smiled, showing off her toothy grin that still scared the hell out of him, but other than that she didn't look that threatening.

"my daughter has a hard time taking a break, I had feared for the longest time she would end up working herself to the business end of a sith blade" Shaak Ti answered shivering slightly at the thought of her daughter being hurt like that.

Rex flinched slightly when a large glob of mud hit Shaak Ti squarely in the face.

Three loud gasps and Aniko's hushed voice "oh...mommy's in trrrrouuuble".

Ahsoka laughed nervously as she stepped away, trying to get some distance in between herself and her mother.

Rex grinned at Ahsoka's retreating form as she shot him a glare before Shaak Ti finally spoke "Ever still a youngling dear daughter.........though your aim could use some improvement".

Rex had to bite his lip to stop himself from laughing as the look on Ahsoka's face went from scared to downright terrified.

"you two are getting some guests soon, they need your help on a small matter on pantora, both senators will meet you there though your uncle is coming with his new padawan tomorrow to pick you up.........." Shaak Ti said as she wiped off the mud gracefully before grinning at her daughter.

Ahsoka still looked at her mother apprehensively as her children giggled, Shaak TI just sent a toothy grin and nodded to Ahsoka to keep playing with her grandchildren. "when your finished id like to see how you are progressing with your combat skills".

Rex couldn't help the slight chuckle that passed his lips making Shaak Ti turn her fanged grin on him "And you can join, let's see if your saber fighting has improved"

Rex rubbed his neck uncomfortably "um I kinda gave my saber to Ahsoka", Shaak Ti looked at him as though he had gone insane "Why on earth would you do that?".

"Because she doesn't have anything else to defend herself with, because she the mother of my children and id rather her, a true Jedi, survive if something like that ever came here" Rex was getting slightly angry at Shaak Ti his voice raising enough to make Shaak Ti's hand drift to her own saber.

Ahsoka on the other hand managed to get to her husband and pull him back from her mother gently. "Come here Rex, Mom can you watch them for a moment?" She said under her breath, Shaak Ti nodded her face set in a dangerous glare s her daughter pulled Rex out of earshot of the triplets.

"What is wrong with you?" Ahsoka asked her hands gently rubbing his chest calming him down a little. Rex closed his eyes before resting his forehead against hers his breathing slightly calming down, "I'm sorry Ahsoka, I just......I can't stand the idea of you being without a lightsaber again.....I keep waking up from nightmares where I walk into that cell and your.......". he shuddered at the thought not wanting to think of it again as he wound his hands around her waist.

Ahsoka gently moved her hands to his hair gently rubbing his scalp gently, "That's never happening again, so stop.....or ill use my Jedi mind tricks on you" Rex chuckled slightly before kissing her nose, Ahsoka blushed before continuing "I'm serious Rex".

"no Jedi tricks, just my little Jedi......." Rex muttered his lips capturing hers pulling her closer as his hands trailed southward.

Ahsoka giggled into the kiss before feeling her temperature rise slightly higher than she was used to, "Rex, down boy" Ahsoka giggled again her hands pushing his away slightly as she kissed him gently. "why.....that's supposed to be one of the perks of being married" Rex whispered wiggling his eyebrows at her before rewrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her neck gently before freezing.
