Rex took a deep breath as he stared at the screen in front of him. He had spent hours upon hours working on the new battle strategies with Wolfe and General Plo.
"Remind me again why we thought this was a good idea to scrap the whole battle strategy that we had set up?" Wolfe muttered as he rubbed his temples.
"Order 66....half of our Jedi and clone allies disappeared practically overnight.....or did you sleep in that day" Rex snapped.
"Ok, maybe we should take a break" Plo replied as he pushed himself away from his monitor. Wolfe pulled himself away from his screen as well only a couple of seconds after his general.
"Thank God I need a nap" Wolfe grumbled.
"Well before that I need you to train with my Padawan, she is exceptional at sabers but I'd feel much better if she was trained with blasters as well," Plo replied making Wolfe grumble under his breath.
"It's a good idea Wolfe, I know after the 501st and I trained Ahsoka I felt loads better about her being on her own" Rex replied, his eyes still fixed on the screen in front of him.
Wolfe scoffed at Rex "yea but your whipped," before he walked over and manually shut off Rex's computer. "An I'm not lying to myself" Rex replied crossing his arms at the smug clone in Infront of him.
Wolfe scoffed at him before taking a step back and scoffed again before storming out the room making Rex and Plo chuckle.
"You might want to look in on Ahsoka, she has been burning the candle at both ends" Plo muttered before gently pulling the stubborn clone away from the work.
"Are the kids giving her a hard time? They seemed just fine this morning"
"No, she is just trying to prove that she can be a good general........and might also be putting most of the recruits on edge" Plo replied as he pulled Rex down the hallway away from the computer room and towards the living quarters.
"How is she putting them on edge?"
"Oh.....just the usual pregnancy hormones mixed with her trying to teach them self defense" Plo replied
"She's doing what!!!" Rex yelled before he broke into a Sprint heading to his quarters.
Plo chuckled slightly to himself before he began to walk in the opposite direction.
"Works every time," He said in such a sing-song tune that it made passers-by stare.
Rex on the other hand was nearly tripping over his own two feet as he burst into both his and Ahsoka's quarters.
"Ahsoka!" Rex yelled wildly looking around the room before he spotted his wife curled up on the bed with blankets covering her upper body almost as if she had been tucked into bed.
Rex blinked for a moment before he realized that he had been tricked by the meddling but good-natured Jedi.
"Rex?" Ahsoka muttered as she slowly began to stir, pushing herself up as she did. Rex winced slightly as he rushed forward to tuck her back into bed, his hands gently pulling her into his arms as she yawned.
"Hey, I'm sorry I woke you" Rex whispered as he gently rubbed one of her montails causing her to pur slightly as she leaned into him.
"Your children are very restless" Ahsoka mumbled as Rex kissed her forehead, Rex only chuckled slightly at that before he rubbed her stomach gently.
"They take after their mother"
Ahsoka glared at him before punching his chest lightly.
Rex laughed slightly at her annoyance before he pulled her blanket more to cover her shoulders, "where are the triplets?" Rex asked slightly worried about her almost constant exhaustion.
"Fives, Echo, Heavy, and Hardcase are babysitting them. Last I saw they were taking them to the chow hall for dinner. " Ahsoka replied as she yawned again.
Rex kissed her forehead again before he resumed rubbing her stomach "the triplets didn't make you this tired, maybe we should get you checked out"
Ahsoka shook her head slightly before laying her hand over his, stopping his rubbing of her stomach. "Su already had a look, nothing is out of order, they are just a little different than the triplets" Ahsoka replied as Rex pulled her hand to his lips and kissed her palm.
"Do you want some food? another blanket?"
Ahsoka giggled slightly at him before she shook her head and nuzzled back into his shoulder blade.
"I just want you" Ahsoka mumbled as she curled up against him a little more.
Rex smiled as he kissed her nose and then her cheeks "don't worry, I'll keep you warm Cyare".
"Good, cuz I don't like cold beds" Ahsoka mumbled again.
Rex smiled even bigger than before and kissed her gently. By the time he pulled away, Ahsoka was smiling happily.
"Good day at the front soldier?" She half-joked.
"Nope, pretty bad, but I'm just glad I get to cuddle with my wife" Rex replied before he spotted a tray of food on the bedside table that had not been touched.
"You're not eating the raw meat?" Rex asked slightly concerned before he heard the door to their room open.
"She keeps throwing up every time she does" Echo replied as he walked over to them with a tray of what looked to be cooked meat of all different kinds.
Rex looked at Echo with confusion before he replied "heavy was the one to find out when she barfed on him this morning.....that being said you might want to avoid the chow hall for a couple of hours".
Rex gave him a "explain" look that only he could give when before Echo replied, "Fives might have started another food fight.......and we might have had your kids help........so here is your guy's dinner....... enjoy, bye".
Before Rex could even react to this new information Echo had sprinted out of the room leaving them alone with the tray of cooked food.
"Your going to give them cleaning detail again arnt you" Ahsoka muttered as she reached forward to pick up a drumstick of what looked to be some kind of chicken.
Rex chuckled before he helped her sit up so she was sitting in between his legs as so she could eat from the tray Infront of her easier.
"Cooked meat isn't as bad as I remember" Ahsoka mumbled as she continued to eat feverishly.
Rex shook his head at her before he kissed her exposed shoulder. "That probably means that my son's prefer cooked meat then..... finally some normalcy" Rex commented laughing slightly at his own joke.
Ahsoka stopped eating and gave him a look that stopped his laughter and turned it into a cough.
Ahsoka squinted at him before continuing her meal.
It didn't take long for her to finish the whole tray, leaving Rex slightly shocked before he felt his wife curled up once again against his chest.
"Goodnight Cyare," Rex whispered before he kissed her forehead and gently pulled the blanket over the both of them before they drifted off to sleep.
