Rex yawned as he slowly woke up, his body taking note of not only how tired he was but the fact that his wife was now using his arm as a body pillow.

He smiled slightly as his grogginess slowly ebbed away allowing his mind to catch sight of the floating backpack just inches from his face.

He blinked once.

Twice.

Yep, that was an unmanned backpack flyig not three feet above them.

His eyes quickly scanned the room for the cause and spotted it almost immediately, his youngest son was giggling in his shared crib and next to him was his fuming sister.

"put..the bag.....down" Rex stated trying his best to sound at least a little intimidating in the earliest part of the morning.

his children on the other hand seemed more amused, almost as if they were planning something. He squinted his eyes at them for a moment to try and figure out just what they were up to when he heard it.

'rip...'

it only took a second for the bags contents to spill out not only ontop of Rex but onto their sleeping mother.

"Whats going on?" Ahsoka grumbled rubbing her eyes as she glaired up at Rex before her eyes drifted to her children, all of whom where now at the barrs of their crib. three sets of eyes shining with laughter at their parents expense.

Rex looked down at her and gently pulled off an old t-shirt that had gotten stuck in her montails before he reached for his coms.

"Fives, Echo, Heavy report to General Tano's quarters"

Ahsoka looked at him heavily confused before her children where gigling again, she laid her head back down and tried to fall back to sleep.

She could feel everyone in the room moving, not only with her tugrutan senses but through the force it seemed.

She opened her eyes again and tried to think about would could make her feel this way.

It was definitely familiar, almost as if it was part of her early memory or.....

she was halfway in thought when she felt something else not too far away from her family and from the ship.

it was dark and looming, almost as if a black hole had decided it would take a walk around the systems eating all the light and hope as it went along.

She bolted straight up and grabbed the coms unit "All hands to battle stations we are about to be attacked. All hands t-"

a loud explosion shook the ship almost sending Ahsoka tumbling off the bed before Rex was able to catch her.

"Cyare!" Rex yelled out of fright grabbing onto her just before she rolled off the bed. He pulled her tight afraid of what might happen if he let go before the ship stopped shaking. He could hear his children whimper in fright before he spotted them, all three where huddled together while Tiberius was holding what looked like a blanket up with the force. It almost looked like a kind of umbrella for a moment before Rex noticed something else.

Not only had the shaking stopped and sirens where going off but his coms unit was no longer in his hand, now it lay on the ground crushed by falling debree.

"oh that's not good" he grumbled as Ahsoka pried out of his arms before running to check on her children.

Rex got up quickly and grabbed Aniko as Ahsoka made her way to the doorway to check if there was any droids coming closer.

"I can hear them Rex" She half yelled as Rex pulled his last son and his shaking daughter into his arms. "We can make it to the hangers, the rest of the force sensitive should have been brought there or halfway there now" Rex whispered.

Ahsoka had only made it three steps outside their quarters when she heard the familiar sounds of a blaster going off, before she had any chance to understand what had happened Rex pulled her back into the room before the whole corridor was filled with them.

"They are fighting in the corridor" Rex hissed closing the door to the room and locking it with the datapad next to it. Ahsoka quickly pulled the children free of his grip so he would be able to bar the door with what ever he could find a moment after this.

Her children where terrified, Tiberius especially. He hugged his brother and sister tightly while trying to seem like he was not afraid or even phased but his shaking knees where a dead giveaway.

"Ok, that should do. Maybe i can fix the coms unit before they find us" Rex commented, afraid to look at his children or his wife as she sat down and pulled all three into her arms.

Rex stopped inches from the bed and hastily grabbed the fur blanket and draped it over Ahsoka and his children, his worry clearly showing as Ahsoka gently grabbed his hand and nodded to him with a small smile.

"We have been through worse" She whispered.

Rex returned the smile before he bent down to collect the pieces from the destroyed coms unit, silently agreeing with her though he had no intention to speak it aloud with his children nearby.
