The Rising

The Great Escape part one

Ahsoka whimpered slightly as her body cried out in pain again, she has burn marks from the stunners almost all over her body now making every breath feel as though her skin was on.

Just as her eyes were about to close the door to her cell opened revealing a rather exsausted and disheveled form, dirt caked the persons skin along with what she could smell to be human blood. Her eyes closed, her body too weak to fight off anyone else anymore. 

"ka!" 

"Ahsoka!!" 

"Ahsoka!!! Please wake up!!!" 

Ahsoka groaned as she felt her body being picked up and laying against something. 

"please Cyare" the voice whispered as Ahsoka felt something soft and familiar rub against her cheek. 

"Rex, we have to get out of here right now" came a strained but familiar voice from far away.

Rex? 

Ahsoka fought her exhaustion to open her eyes, once her eyes where open she was finally able to see the slightly blurry outline of Rex. his eyes held unshed tears as he smiled down at his wife, "hey" he said gently his voice cracking slightly. 

Ahsoka smiled before snuggling into his chest forgetting where they where for the moment. 

"Rex!" came a hushed yell from the voice again. 

Ahsoka strianed her mind to remember the voice but her mind was just as exhausted as her body. 

Rex kissed her forehead gently before picking her up in his arms, it wasn't until Rex turned around that she recognized a heavily pregnant Padme keeping watch for them. 

Padme glanced at Rex and Ahsoka before becoming them to come forward into the hallway. It wasn't until they where in the hallway that Ahsoka managed to ask in a shakey whisper to Rex "wh-where is m-master?". 

Rex winced before kissing her forehead again tucking her closer to his chest. Ahsoka closed her eyes slowly breathing in her mates scent, Padme panted heavily trying to keep up with Rex "no this way" she whispered grabbing Rex from walking out in front of a small patrol of droids. 

Rex mentally kicked himself before quietly thanking Padme, he knew that they had very short amount of time and this was their only real chance of escape, he could not mess this up for the three of them. 

Soon the small patrol had left leaving the three of them to come out of their hiding place and continue sneaking to the landing platform. 

Corridor after corridor they managed to find the outside landingplatform, Rex's body was now screaming at him to stop. He panted slightly as padme croutched next to a neatly stacked set of crates, her face twisted in pain slightly as her free hand covered her stomach. 

"whats wrong?" whispered Rex as he shifted his sleeping wife so he could carry her easier. Padme shook her head "its nothing, we need to get out of here." Rex glaired at her before she returned the glair with one that mad him want to be anywhere else at that moment. 

He cleared his throat before motioning to the ship that was no more than a couple of yards away from them. "will that work?" he asked causiusly, Padme glanced at the ship before nodding when Rex felt something strange suddenly wash over him. 

It was a mix of fear and anger and something else....

Rex's eyes widen as he realized why Padme was acting like this "are you going into labor?" he whispered making Padme wince at his tone, "yes. now get into that ship" her voice was strained slightly making Rex look around to count just how many droids they had to get rid of before even getting close to that ship. 

Ten droids.

Ten. 

Rex gulped before he caught sight of Padme crouched low sneeking behind some droids and into the ship. 

"so this is haw General Skywalker feels...." Rex mumbled under his breath as he quickly followed Padmes lead before the droids noticed them. 

The ship itself was small but had a small medic droid in the corner and chairs big enough for Ahsoka to sleep comfortably on. Rex gently laid his wife on the chair directly behind the pilots seat before activating the droid. 

Padme winced again as she closed the hatch to the ship and started it up in one swift move. Rex could hear the dorids outside fireing at the ship as the senator began to fly the ship, "REX GET ON THE GUNNER STATION!!!" yelled Padme as she narrowly avoided some droid fighters trying to shoot them down,

Rex who had fallen almost on his face when the ship lurched to the left to avoid the droid fighter coughed before spitting out a tooth and scrambling to the rear gunner station. 

the ship rocked again causing Rex to hit the side of his head against the wall with a loud thud, "Hey will you watch i-" Rex started but stopped the moment the senators glare landed on him for the breifest of seconds. 

Rex had learned from Ahsoka's pregnancy not to rile her up or he would have bite marks on his hands, although the senator was human he wasn't to sure that she wouldn't shoot him if it so pleased her very pregnant hormones. 

"I'm sorry ma'am but you seem to be going through labor is there anyway i can help?" asked the droid, Rex winced knowing what was coming next. 

"NO THERE IS NOT!!!" yelled the Senator as her face was scrunched in pain. 

He went back to his post shooting down droids and trying not to get his head bashed in by the senator, Rex could feel his head throbbing slightly as sweat ran from his forehead into his eyes. droid after droid shot at them but thanks to the senators clever flying and Rex's aim they where able to get into hyperspace. though Rex had to admit it was far to close of a call. 

Rex returned to Ahsoka as the senator shakily tried to stand. 

The droid who had been aiding Ahsoka was now hiding behind the chair slightly afraid of the Senator, Rex looked at the droid with pitty as the senator cried out in pain. 

"Ma'am, i need to help you its in my programming" the droid said again. The senator finally broke nodding her head and whimpering "yes please". 

Rex kissed his wifes nose as she sleept on oblivious to the screaming woman in labor before getting up and helping the senator to the small med bay before being shoved out of the room by the droid. 

Rex laughed noting the similarity between the droid and Kix's attitudes.
