I ran down the stairs of the elven king's halls, trying to come up with an idea, how to catch up with the dwarves unseen.
As an elf it would be easy, I could join the royal guard. But the problem is I'm not dress like it. They will immediately notice an intruder dressed like dwarf. If only there was an oppurtunity to get the guardian uniform...
That moment I felt like all of the Valar listened to me.

Exactly in my direction was coming an elven maid, carrying a pile of green clothes of the silvan elves, propably on her way to wash it.
" Ú- naro i aran." I whispered, giving her a few white gems, shining as winter moon and taking the clothes with me.
The maid starred at me in astonishment, not knowing what to say.
" Hannon lle. " I winked and continued running down the stairs until I found the room I needed.

Right behind the corner of ovegrown stone wall was a small dressing room with a changing shroud and some not yet sewed dresses.
I hid behind the shroud and quickly put on dark green tunic, leather breastplate, and another green piece of cloth of a lighter colour.

Playing with the strands of my hair I made the most elvish- looking hairstyle I could without a mirror and I joined the royal guard, running down the stairs

" Where is the keeper of the keys?" asked the captain of the guard. It was the elleth that spoke to Kili before.
She got the answer when we arrived into a wine cellar, where we found two elves sleeping on the table with glasses of wine - the winemaker and the keykeeper.

But there was someone far more important in the cellar. It was Bilbo frantically trying to get the floorboard to rise by stomping on it with his foot .
I would call on him but I would reveal myself then.
Still it was too late. The floorboard turned and he fell down, splashing into the cold water.
" Aphado nín ! Drego !" ordered the red haired elleth as we ran out of the pallace. What a smart way to escape the dungeons. I thought.

But I quickly changed my mind when I saw a flash of blonde hair blowing. Legolas... He'll find me !
" Holo in ennyn !" he cried and then I finally saw my friends and family, floating on the river in giant barells.
When a guard nearby sounded the alarm , the dwarves stopped in front of a water gate.  They couldn't pass through but that was only a benefit for me.

I was ready to join them when an arrow hitted a young elf standing next to me. No... No... Anything but not them... Orcs.  They came again, full armed and prepared to kill everything that'll cross their path.
"Watch out!" cried one of the dwarves, propably Bofur.
" Get over the bridge!" shouted Thorin. I watched the dwarves and Bilbo as they fought for a while until one of the orcs attacked me from behind.

I fought of the blade of its sharp sword and dodged left.
Then I jumped, kicking his chin so he fell down, finally stabbing my dagger into his chest.
" That's for Legolas's mother!" I said and shot an arrow to another orc approaching. Dozens of arrows flew from my bow and dozens of orc corpses now sunk into the river. But it wasn't over yet.

When I pushed down another warrior I saw my brother running up the bridge. It may looked hopefully but it did not. As he stepped on the last stair, his leg was shot by an orcish arrow.
" Kili nooooo !!!!" I cried.
" Kili !" Fili screamed down on the rover.
" Kili ?" Thorin stopped breathing.
" Kili !!!!" I yelled. He dissappeared from my sight before I could see him properly, jumping back to his barell.

I continued running with bow in my hand, fighting the orcs on my way without noticing Legolas scuttling on the opposite side of the river.
Only when I spotted a huge grey orc tossing his axe I turned to him, throwing my dagger to the orc's forehead and running up the bridge.
Although in all of the fighting chaos, blood and noises I saw Legolas' pulling out my dagger out of the orc' forehead.
" That is no elvish blade." he said.

Then our eyes met and for a second I felt like I'm in heaven, safe and sound, filled with everlasting love and joy.
" Nathíniel..." he started.
" Navaer Legolas." I said and jumped down the bridge, finding myself in the same barell that Kili was in.
" Nathíniel! We thought you left us !" he squeezed me tightly.
" You ? Never in my life." I smiled.
